Great atmosphere. Music good but rather one-dimensional. Very samey. Almost no Pharrell Williams, Niles Rodgers, Lionel Ritchie, Michael Jackson or anything ressembling Disco, Reggae or Funk. And certainly nothing like Rudimental's music. Or anything remotely 20th century. All Drum & Bass, Techno and music heavily DJ-oriented with the DJs shrieking and whaling or sort-of rapping to a Hi-Energy type background soundtrack. Way too samey and therefore not really for me for much of the time. At least there was a trio of djs which helped to change things but only a bit. All the djs were very similar soundwise and seem to be copying each other's musical tastes which made for a really monotonal, musical, audio experience. Apart from that, there was a great atmosphere in 'the joint' (purposeful use of the vernacular or slang there) with the majority of the crowd appearing to really enjoy the music served-up 'All Night Long'!

P.s. Parking difficult and wheelchair access looked pretty well non-existent! Have not eaten there yet so can't comment on the food. And hopefully this place never gets kid-friendly, at least not at night!! (would kill the atmosphere...

Went to the Alchemist club, Parklands, Nairobi, on the night of 20 August 2022, and it was perhaps one of the worst nights of my life. Someone stole my phone from the jacket I was wearing by opening the zip and slipping it out. While I realised it within seconds, it was still too late. And to my horror, 12 other people lost their iPhones around the same time, most likely on the dance floor. The most important red flag is that mostly only Asians or other foreigners lost their phones, none of the locals raised this complaint. What’s surprising is the absolute lack of concern of the authorities over there. Neither did the bouncers/ security help in frisking the people who were leaving the premises nor were they interested in calling the cops. Won’t be surprised if they’re also involved in this racket. Don’t ever want to come back to a place as horrible as this, nor do I ever want to come back to such a disappointing country where such crimes are rampant and international tourists who’re spending their money (which directly contributes to the country’s economy) are cheated like this....

Mainly writing this review due to the terrible service at this place. The food was fine & the folks at the various places inside the establishment selling food were decent enough. The problem was the bad service at the different bars I went to while I was inside to get drinks. The bartenders seemed like they didn't want to be there & are borderline rude when you're trying to ask simple questions/getting drinks. Drinks are also a little bit pricier than many other bars/restaurants around the same area & I'd be willing to look past that if the service was good but it simply wasn't. One more thing that was disappointing is that we went to play a few games at the pool table & the guys in charge of the table told me a specific amount per game before we started playing but once we were done the price we were asked to pay was basically double(per game) what we were told beforehand. This goes back to the general theme of terrible service at this place. Only redeeming quality is that the food is nice & the servers/waiters are decent unlike the people at the...

First ⭐ great venue, inside but out, trees inside, big stage lots of room to dance, was pretty full for Thursday, I'll go again tonight Second ⭐ people were friendly, bit young for me. It didn't seem to matter as the crowd was mixed. Service could have been quicker and friendlier. It was acceptable. Third✨ they made a good cocktail 🍹 bit pricey, for the type of club, it's meant to be a Gin bar. So said Bambino Italian restaurant across the street, same owners they said if you eat at either you get 10% off the other so good incentive to try both, which I did. Good marketing. Forth ⭐ they have a pizza 🍕 restaurant inside I didn't try it but it seemed pretty busy all night, Fifth ⭐ the entertainment, big stage with a great band, pumping out all kinds of RnB some old school Aretha Franklin & Bob Marley lots of people singing and dancing, midnight the DJ came on, I left, had an early start in the morning. The people stayed to boogie. Thumbs up from me👍 I'll go back tonight.

In 2016- November 5, I went for a rock and metal gig here [This is Africa Fest II]. I saw All for nothing band(Netherlands), Last Year's Tragedy (Kenya), RASH(Kenya), RISH (Kenya), Norbromide (Mozambique). The sound was radical: the moshpit and stage dives. In 2017- March 25,This is Africa Fest was held just as awesome as last year's. Different line up. Stick to Your guns(USA), RASH(Kenya), Crystal Axis(Kenya), Seismic(Kenya), Seeds of Datura (Kenya)-yeah that plant which has weird flowers and sap. Someone's T shirt was torn in the moshpit. Dj Edygrim and DJ Tumz came too and made the event even more memorable. Apart from the gnarly rock gigs. Alchemist has a variety of food stands and a food truck. I really liked Mama Rocks gourmet burgers.

It's the total best, seeing as it were that Nala, the guardian angel,(is a lovely dog) scouts the place, for tasty treats and what more would one ask for? What's more, it's got different joints to suit whatever your taste buds call for, all within the convenience of one location, be it food, fast food, drinks, snacks. In the same location is housed other entities such as Made in Kenya store with unique jewelry, head scarfs, clothes, sweets, leather bags and wallets, artful cards with tasteful messages, some cute, others, outright obnoxious.... The world's Loudest Library, which sells comic books, stickers and such memorabilia, all in all, it's a good chill zone with tolerable ambience
