I went to Java on the 29th of June 2024 just before their June specials came to an end.
I had a classic Java breakfast with toast rather than pancakes and sunny side up eggs. My date had the breakfast sliders which were a part of the specials.
It was a Saturday in Sarit so the atmosphere was buzzing. All the tables were filled so there was a lag in service but it was welcome. It allowed me the chance to look around at all father-daughter dates, church group lunches and the occasional mall walkers trying to get their steps in.
Drinks were served while we waited for our food and the service from the barista was top notch. Got a little smile out of me.
The baked beans in my breakfast were nice and warm and my toast was perfectly grilled. The sliders were filled with a hearty portion of eggs, bacon and cheese guaranteeing you all 3 in each bite. The fruit salad that came with the sliders had generous cuts of fresh fruit ranging from bananas to grapes.
On the downside: the eggs could’ve gone a bit longer and both of our dishes had potatoes which came cold :( the sausages that came with my meal were so old and had clearly been reheated so many times they could’ve been used as a flagpole.
Overall though, it was a pretty good meal. It left me feeling energized and hours later when I got home: my body wasn’t mad at me. I picked up an iced hibiscus mint tea from the specials menu to go home with and it was delicious and very hydrating.
I think the occasional dish does slip under quality control and that could be tightened up but you can rely on this Java for a good, classic...
Read moreJava @ Sarit Centre has been such a disappointment on this trip. Loyalty points are hardly ever given. Its always oops something with the system or sorry I closed the transaction. Defeats the purpose of having one. The staff has been rude especially the Baristas. Its good to know they get to decide that the coffee is not too hot to handle (for me) when I asked for a sleeve or serviette. There are no trays ever available for multiple take away coffee and no serviettes apparently. Time to shift my loyalty to other cafes within Sarit Centre who treat a customer as a customer and not some they are doing a favour by letting...
Read moreHad a full java breakfast. It was OK. I think eggs too plastic and pork sausage lacking taste. Baked beans too hard. Chips lacking the taste of good kenyan potatoes. Bread was ok. Not impressed with being given an end crust. Streaky bacon was good. Happy to see good quality heinz ketchup on the table. Tabasco was a lifesaver to create some taste. Passion juice was lovely. Capuchinno was the best part of the meal. Lovely short bread biscuit with it. Mercy my waitress was brilliant. Absolutely not her fault the food was nothing to rave about. I'll stick to coffee only next time. I guess that's why it's a...
