Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant Kilimani — Restaurant in Nairobi

I’ve been a regular at this restaurant for years, but after today, I will NEVER be back. The service was appalling, and the mistakes were beyond ridiculous. I’m vegan, and when I asked the waiter, Mike, if the dish he brought me was lentils, he assured me it was. Guess what? It wasn’t. It was meat. When I confronted him, he reluctantly admitted it was meat, but by then, I had already eaten it. To make matters worse, they charged us for something we didn’t even order. When we tried to address the issue, Mike got visibly frustrated and walked away. I asked to speak to the manager or anyone else who could help, and he flat out said no. There was clearly a language barrier, but that doesn’t excuse this level of incompetence. They need to start writing down orders to avoid such confusion, but it’s clear they don’t care. The service here is wonderful. The waiters take their time to understand your order and they hardly get any of the orders mixed up. The venue caters for small to medium sized groups.
