Kilele Nyama — Restaurant in Nairobi

We had wanted to visit this venue for a while now and found ourselves in the area during the day so decided to check it out.

The restaurant seemed to have an ongoing shoot and seemed disinterested in showing us a space.

The waiter asked us to try the platters which didn't tickle our fancy so we ended up ordering the short ribs and the chicken satay.

Our meal took a good hour to arrive and we wondered why because the food was cold.

The satay was over cooked, dry and flavorless. The peanut sauce tasted old and cardboadish.

The ribs were well presented with two makeshift dollops of grainy mash. And cold to the bone. The saviour in this dish was the hot pepper sauce that comes as an accompaniment.

Not wanting to create a fuss, we ate our meal and ordered a coffee and dessert. Again, the mochas should have hot beverages however reached our table tepid and distasteful.

Throughout the service our waiter was scarce. So I took my coffee over to the Batista to complain. The solution to my tepid coffee was to have it microwaved.

My partner and I had watched reviews and posts on social media who hype the establishment and its service, unfortunately it rang the total opposite for us. Service is extremely poor, quality of food is poor, presentation is average.

I'd give it a great place to view the Nairobi skyline and possibly a place for one who needs...

I had always wanted to try this restaurant so my husband and I booked a table here. So to book a table you pay Ksh 4,000 redeemable which okay. The manager was really nice when we arrived but as the evening went on, it became busy and the waiters became extremely busy. We had to wait for almost 30 minutes to get a waiter to take our order for the mains. We then waited another 30 minutes for food to arrive. Food was okay but nothing special. We decided to take away the remainders since we couldn't finish it. We literally had to go find someone to wrap up our food to go. When we asked for the bill, we waited another 30 minutes for someone to bring it. But he left even before we finished paying. We had the short ribs platter that came with half chicken and wings..the chicken was okay but the short beef ribs they served with it was so old it had a funny taste and smell ..the person serving us came and asked how the food was and we said the beef wasn't fresh and had a strange smell, she said she can take it back and they'll sort it 5 minutes later she returned with it. Guess what..they brought the same pieces of bones but more marinated (barbeque) it looked saucy but when we tasted it was the same mediocre taste. Not fresh and still the strange smell. At this point we just asked for the bill coz at first when our service person went back with the food we heard some commotion in the kitchen mark you the restaurant at that moment only had our table and another table occupied by a couple so it wasn't as busy.
