The Roof- ibis Styles Hotel Rooftop — Restaurant in Nairobi

I’ve had to lower my rating here after many many visits. The biggest problems are the service and food quality.

The food is ok, nothing amazing, but presented nicely. However it takes forever to arrive, so much so that you often need to ask for an update. We aren’t even talking about when it is busy here, it can be quiet and still take 40 minutes for a simple salad.

The service, while polite and friendly, is so slow. Staff would rather stand around and chat to each other or the DJ, than prepare drinks. With only 2 tables out of 25 approx, it still takes 10 minutes for 1 beer to arrive because the staff would rather chat than get it.

If you are staying in the hotel, visit other places nearby such as Beer District, the restaurant on the ground floor, or One Africa. It is much better quality and...

The ibis hotel is located in excellent nice quiet area of nairobi city, namely westlands. The hotel entry point is well secured and manned with professional deployed security personnel. On entry into the reception area after security clearance checks, the atmosphere is great and very welcoming. A lovely coffee shop and state of the art furniture displayed for waiting and sitting areas. A service lift to the roof too restaurant with nice view and breath taking fresh air await your arrival in the open air service renderred tables areas. Menus are electronic and with a smart phone all you need to do is scan view contents on phone and place orders. For sure a place worth visiting with or without company. Service was not seamless as we were served by different waiters creating some confusion.

The food was very very disappointing. 2nd time being there and ordering the meat platter. 1st time there was a variety of meats but the chicken was obviously reheated and dry. 2nd time round the large platter had a huge portion of chicken thighs and chicken wings and 2 pieces of beef ribs. Two! The beef was alright but the chicken was once again reheated and not freshly grilled. Worse is by the time it arrived on the table it was cold and also flavorless..we ate just coz we were hungry but we were unable to finish the food. The fries were...
