Oyster Bar “Моря” was a delightful surprise—a seafood haven in Bishkek we couldn’t pass up. Spanning two floors, the restaurant boasts ample space with elegant, if slightly old-fashioned, decor that adds a touch of charm and sophistication.
FOOD:
The menu is a seafood lover’s dream, with an impressive selection sourced from France and Russia, showcasing top-notch quality. We sampled a variety of dishes: the crab was a standout, perfectly cooked with tender, non-rubbery meat—its shoulder and knuckles were our favorite, consistently excellent. The rolls were fresh and juicy, packed with filling and light on rice, though smaller size would’ve made for a more refined bite and better flavor balance. The scallop carpaccio was a hit, with a sweet, delicate taste and impeccable texture, clearly carefully defrosted. The octopus carpaccio was equally impressive, nearly melting in the mouth. The lobster ravioli were tasty, though the dough felt slightly overcooked. The crab-stuffed cabbage rolls came with a fantastic espuma sauce, but the filling had a fishier taste and coarser texture than expected. The oysters, chosen straight from the aquarium, were fresh and delicious, though cutting the foot would’ve made them easier to eat fully. Desserts were phenomenal, with the Pavlova stealing the show.
SERVICE:
The service was outstanding, especially our waiter Eldar, who was knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. Lunchtime visits offered personalized attention, while dinner service was slightly slower due to the busier crowd.
VERDICT:
Oyster Bar “Моря” is our favorite restaurant in Bishkek, delivering exceptional seafood, ambiance, and service. Yes, prices are a bit above average, but the quality justifies it. A few minor tweaks—like softer ravioli dough or better oyster prep—would make it perfect, but it’s already a top-tier spot. Highly recommend for a special occasion or to...
Read moreThis restaurant is high quality regarding the food, the staff and the design. It's the only pkace in Bishkek to find fresh french oysters (from 350 to 500 KGS) and they are delicious. They also have different kind of seafood (lobster, crab, shrimps...) and the fish is super well cooked (I recommend the salmon with spinach). They have a good selection of wine (also some french wine). The staff is very caring and helpful. It's a luxury place with a super beautiful design. All is made to make you feel comfortable. They also have a smoking area, separated from the rest of the place, nice if you don't like to smell the smoke while eating. Price range is higher than in the rest of the city, but it's definitely worth it considering the quality...
Read moreIt is a nice place when you can't eat meat any more, but the prices are quite high compared to the other restaurants in the area. The forks are extremely uncomfortable to use if you're eating pasta, the portions are quite large, so don't order a lot of everything take it one step at a time. The service is nice, the interior is good, the food lacks some style, the bread is too thick, the pasta that was served was stuck together. Bot it is...
