House Of Food Diner — Restaurant in Liepaja

I ordered sweet and sour chicken with rice, but honestly, there was hardly any chicken in the dish. It was mostly pineapple and onion mixed with rice, and just a few tiny scraps that were supposed to be chicken. The food was served cold, and you even have to pick it up yourself, more like in a cheap takeaway place than in a diner. Prices are low, but there’s basically nothing worth eating here. On top of that, we had to wait nearly half an hour, even though the place was completely empty.

To be fair, the staff member who took our order was polite and friendly - no complaints there. But everything else was just a waste of time. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place for food at all. Maybe it works better just as a spot for drinks or late-night partying, but definitely not for a...

I don't want to wallow in bad memories so won't go into specific detail but I will say, Louie, maybe consider paying your staff a bit better so you can actually employ people who know what service means and have the slightest interest in their job. We regrettably visited this place on the 08/09/24 while visiting Liepāja in hopes to have a nice dinner. I patiently waited for 2,5 hours for them to fix the order that they got wrong however never got my food at the end. At least had some enternainment watching the seagulls and the local alkies clearing the tables outside as none of the staff bothered themselves with it. The place was not busy at all. This place has Western Europe prices while the service and quality is still deep in the Soviet...

What I got today wasn’t food—it was a punishment. A sad, grey pork chop clearly yanked from the depths of a freezer and microwaved into oblivion. The “gravy” (if you can even call it that) was the same lifeless sludge served to everyone else, like a factory-line afterthought. And the potatoes? Also frozen. Also microwaved. Also tragic.

This wasn’t a meal. This was a warning: stay far, far away unless your taste buds have committed a crime and deserve to be punished.
