Spīķeris — Restaurant in Liepaja

Drinks (non-alcoholic): at first were extremely sweet, even, when mixed. Balanced out a bit when the ice melted.

Main courses: the fish and the vegetables were perfectly cooked, but it seemed that they were going for natural flavours, so very little seasoning was used, if any. This resulted in some parts of the dishes being a bit bland.

Dessert: Pavlova was really well balanced and tasty. Usually restaurants make their desserts way too sweet, but this one was just right.

Service: staff were friendly and polite, but with the restaurant about 50% full (including both inside and outside seating) we had to wait 50+ min. for our main courses. Other people seemed to wait for a similar...

Quite a few of the mussels on our plate had not opened up. It is a health risk to serve them so. We mentioned this to the waitress who said she will tell the chef but we got no apologies or any kind of discount. No restaurant should serve food which has even the tiniest chance of food poisoning but a restaurant of this price level especially should recognize their mistakes. An apology + a small discount of the dish would have saved the situation but none were given.

Very good fish and seafood restaraunt in Liepaja, which serves fresh quality dishes. Restaurant is located in a very nice area, in a historical building, next to various ships. Vibe was very cozy. Really enjoid dj playing atmospheric dnb set during our visit. Service was amazing. Beef tartare was missig salt and pepper. Had to ask staff for a grinders. Sander fillet and fish and chips was very delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Kitchen could improve food preparation process speed. We were not in a hurry, but waiting...
