PAVILLON de ROZE — Restaurant in Liepaja

It was a shame we found this Georgian restaurant disappointing since the food was actually very good. We arrived for our reservation. There seemed to be two waiting teams: one covered inside, one the outside. The more senior waiter was on inside "duty" and suggested we might prefer an outside table on a pleasant midsummer evening. We took his advice (along with everyone else, it seemed). By the time the overwhelmed outside waiter took our order (it was quite a while) it had gone rather cool and the midges were having a quicker meal than us. We asked to move inside. Our food eventually arrived after cooling for 5 minutes on the outside table the kitchen hadn't been told we'd vacated. We were also given an additional menu item in error and had to dispute it and have it removed (untouched by us) from the bill. About food - expected kind of “explosion” of flavors. Nothing extraordinary delivered/ received. But still was OK.

Service - honestly on a low level. Maybe it was just one guy in not his best mood. But: Menu has mistakes, as a result wrong dishes were brought. Waiter didn’t accept failure despite it’s been told/ showed/ proved “it’s not Your fault, but menu translated wrong”. We insisted on dishes to be exchanged. Manager got called. Somehow problem solved. But with feeling like we were not welcomed here. Complimentary wine also was given 👍 Food was not finished and we were not ready to leave, but box with receipt brought and in next minute same waiter came with card machine to get us payed.

Atmosphere- Moment above spoiled entire atmosphere we hoped on.

We despise this place: we waited for about an hour and dishes were not delivered together. Also kids received their meals together with their desserts which is not acceptable (imagine eating pasta with ice cream). Prices were high and food was bland. The 3rd photo shows a four-person meal that was cold, ordinary and expensive (85€) - definitely not worth it. We confronted the waiter about it but he did nothing and just walked away. The dumplings (2nd photo) were tasteless and there were only three of them. Perhaps they tried to distract the customers from the awfulness of the food with their black appearance.
