What a shame to have such a nice products to sell but contrasting customer service!
I just visited the place to buy fresh pastries. I can give you many stars for the pastries & cakes, but the service very much depends on a person standing behind a cashier–logical. I went to buy a bread on Sunday–I enjoyed the service and I started to think of the place better than many other 1 star reviews present it here. However today...
The lady behind the cashier has not implemented lūdzu & paldies un her vocabulary. Her answer to my one and only question was without emotions like I had to feel sorry to be interested to buy a pastry. I guess it is wrong to be curious about what I can buy there. When the sales person threw the bill on a table, she quickly disappeared 2 meters from POS system to be on her phone!
I am Latvian and this kind of service is not a norm. There are plenty of places where latvians work in a customer service and are sincere, polite & they do smile. So no, this is not a thing in Latvia.
To the business owner of the place–if you have a competitor that on the top of pastries, cakes & drinks has a nice welcoming service, you would not be competitive. Just saying. Think about the poor customers that has to battle between delicious meal and negative attitude...
Read moreVery nice place with a great atmosphere. The cake we had was delicious, and the coffee was good as well. However, the staff is unacceptable for a place like this. First of all, they are very unfriendly, they can hardly explain what the cakes are made of because their English is poor, and they make you feel rushed while ordering, so you barely have time to decide what you want. It is true that it’s self-service, which is fine, but they could at least provide trays so you can carry everything at once. Otherwise, you have to go back and forth to the counter multiple times.
Because of the unfriendly staff and the stressful ordering process, we forgot to order milk, which led to an extremely unpleasant situation. Even though I offered to pay for the milk for the tea and coffee, both employees were very, very rude and scolded me for not ordering the drinks with milk in the first place. It is true that we made a mistake for the reasons mentioned above, but that is not a way to treat guests. How much could 0.5 dl of milk possibly cost to justify treating customers like that?
For the next two days, it didn’t even cross our minds to come back here for coffee, and we will certainly...
Read moreCharming bakery & cafe, interesting architecture inside, relaxed atmosphere, wonderful smell of baking. Nice front of the shop & a wide selection of cakes and breads.
We are a family of 6, so I ordered 6 cakes and 6 drinks. The coffees were good. The cherry strudel was very good. The apple strudel and cheesecake were average. Prices similar to coffee & cake in other European cities e.g Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, London - €4/5 per item.
The customer service was very bad. Staff were not friendly, didn't smile once or say hello or goodbye when we spoke to them. It was like it was an inconvenience that we were ordering and spending money there. There is no table service, so you have to wait for your drinks & cakes at the bar, and carry them to the table yourself. This is usually fine, however I ordered 6 drinks and 6 cakes - there was no tray for me to carry anything on and the staff did not offer to help me once, even though the shop was quiet and they were not doing anything. I had to make lots of trips between the bar and our table to carry everything. Not a...
