Wow, everything, and I mean everything was not simply good, but spectacular. Start with the water (huh, why start there?) - because in this very fine restaurant they offered us tap water and we accepted!! Nice house wine Amuse bouche came in 3 tasty parts that were each quite pleasing. The bread and butter were quite special, far different than the usual Table visit from the chef, very nice Split the first course: chanterelles with noodles - the noodles, chanterelles and sauce were simply wonderful Wife got salmon w/rice and vegetables I got beef fillet with risotto, chanterelles and vegetables. You won't go wrong with anything you choose. With the sun setting (and darkness coming for the narrow windy roads of Lichtenstein), we skipped dessert, paid and left. I feared that the chef felt that we were disappointed/unhappy with the meal (because we didn't linger over wine, coffee, dessert, whatever) because he came running out to the parking lot to see if there was anything we were unhappy about!!!! Is that class or what? I can only say we were incredibly happy and delighted with absolutely every aspect of our dinner. Thank you for a really special memorable evening.
Of course service was incredible - everything I would expect from such an outstanding restaurant. And the views were magnificent in a...
Read moreAbsolutely gorgeous and amazing. It would be a lot easier to start this with some pointers. First, if you are staying at the Sonnenhof make a reservation with your stay, as you are priority over the year long waiting list for weekend reservations. Second, prepare yourself for some fantastic treatment from the staff at the restaurant. We were extremely pleased with everyone there, but Daniel in particular was a standout waiter that made our meals more exotic and complete. He was an excellent host rather than wait staff, and I mean that in a very good way. Third, the Michelin Star they received is for good reasons. The head chef is an artist who puts his heart and soul into the meals. His kitchen staffs support to this is definitely clear in presentation, taste, and straight up culinary quality. I leave you with these three items supporting my visit as I suggest you go check out all of Lichtenstein. The area, the people, the views, the towns, and the food are simply...
Read moreMade a reservation as we’d planned on driving through this area on our way back to Munich. Despite being slightly off our path, we decided to check this place out given the great reviews. We made a reservation but upon arrival we were told it was pending on a waitlist (information we did not receive). The host snobbishly said we should have checked and that they could not squeeze us in. I’m not sure what the point of a reservation would be then! As luck would have it, we stumbled upon a charming Italian place just down the street which warmly greeted us and was a memorable experience.
-Dear Marée- it was a lunch reservation, not dinner. You must have me confused with another diner you didn’t have room for. Alas, it was not even the lack of accommodation that I’d suggest you take from the feedback. Rather, the way you treat your would...
