What a great restaurant and a very warm friendly welcome. Absolutely incredulous ambience plus atmosphere plus general feel-good factor. Extraordinarily busy with a fair few diners really enjoying their dinner experience to the extent that we saw at least 3 couples clapping their hands out of sheer excitement for most of the evening. We were 7 of us celebrating the wedding anniversary of Francesca and Fritz McFlaherty who were visiting Liechtenstein for the first time ever , plus some of our local friends in the small local village where we live in Sussex , UK. One of our friends was quietly getting tucked into massive slabs of roast meats. We all went for the cheese fritters as a starter, except Jimbo who went for the hot cheese and chives paste. The wine was a French Bordeaux that l forget the name but was brilliant and great plus good. Oh yes try the fishy eggpaste on roasted Mediterranean vegetables, too die for. Truly excellent selection of fresh beer. Peter the group leader had 4 cups of supreme beer. His wife who is a Michelin student went for the creamy chunks of hot pork fillets drenched in a buttery rich thick extra creamy mushroom sauce served on a bed of varied potato purees. The service was professional, excellent and out of this world as were the thick creamy coconut cocktails. Try the hot sweetbreads, really special plus exceptional and served with a variety of hot cheeses and fantastical butter. We laughed most of the night because one of our friends,Franz, was telling us some exceedingly funny stories about his travels to the Himalayas and the Hebrides and Honduras. He had been travelling to all these spectacular places with 4 members of his local yachts club for a good 2 weeks. I recommend this place if you are a group of...
Read moreA brilliant restaurant serving modern regional cuisine, overlooking vineyards next to downtown Vaduz. I got the daily set menu, which was three courses (and an amuse bouche) for 86 CHF. The first dish is a combination of a chilled tomato soup with marlin on a cracker. The thick tomato soup is delicious with plenty of subtle spices to obscure the intense flavor of tomato. It was so good that I didn’t leave a single drop remaining. The exceptionally fresh marlin goes very well with the soup. The torkel style Vitello tonnato is superb. It comes with a couple twists: two pieces of lightly smoked tuna accompany the sliced veal, as well as fresh cheese cubes that taste of light wasabi. Little bits of texture from croutons, radish, sesame, and micro greens further add to the dish. The teres major steak (beef clod) was prepared perfectly to be chewy and tender with a rich beef flavor. The baked mini potatoes were welcome, and each sauce it came with was delicious. The passion fruit dream dessert features a passion fruit cream sweetened using honey, with the texture between ice cream and pudding but an exceptionally creamy mouth feel. Passion fruit seeds are laced at the top of the cream, as well as sweet berries. It was the highlight...
Read moreGreat food, poor service. although we believed good food would compensate service, this was not the case. Never before we experienced such a discrepancy between food quality and bad service. First. There is no English menu. Something you would expect from a Michelin restaurant. The waiter translated the menu but you can't remember it all so we had to choose from what we remembered. We ordered wine and water which were held at a side table as in other Michelin restaurants so the waiters could pour when the glass is empty. As our glasses became empty, no one approached us and we had to go to the side table to pour ourselves. There were long minutes without any waiters around for long time. Finally we waited an hour!!! to the dessert and it was almost impossible to get the waiters attention. Finally after getting the bill, we waited 15 minutes to pay but no one approached us. We finally went to pay at the cashier. The service ruined the food experience. We must day, the food was excellent, creative, full of flavors, colors and high quality ingredients. Go for the food and hopefully you'll have a better experience with the service (which was polite...
