Michelle — Restaurant in Kaunas

I was gifted a food tasting at Michelle. This restaurant has no chef or staff who know what food tasting is and such service should not be an option. Basics: staff did not set the table as would be expected for food tasting, the table was completely empty, there were no proper napkins (just tiny thin bits of thin paper), staff did not present any dishes, just brought them out. When asked what it was, the waitress just shrugged.. Every dish arrived in the same deep soup plate. Food standard: three out of four dishes were uneatable. The mushroom soup was cold and salty with a ton of parmesan. Ravioli was extremely undercooked, almost plastic, with white flour still visible in the dough. Main course was ok, meat was soft, with possible cauliflower pure and weird consistency carrots. The dessert was supposed to be a pana cotta, but it was some kind of milk jelly made from powder and you could still taste it. I was extremely disappointed, I couldn’t believe that such underperforming restaurant is still open in the heart...

The restaurant invites guests, places orders for 17:00 ... and de facto restaurant starts to work and function at 18:00-18:30 ... some patient guests just sits in a very cold (phone thermometer shows +14) hall and watches staff running around with boxes of delivery and routine preparation - no coffe, no drinks, no snacks ... Even when everything started (looks like) dish to dish took no less then hour ... and that cold - administrator watches guests siting at the tables with the coats and doing nothing ... Can not tell anything about food - all taste senses were somewhere in the cold background ... just small trifle - edges of plates with warm (warmish) food were ice-cold ... It is a bit shame for the legendary glory this place - a.k.a GILDIJA - had...

I made a reservation for Friday evening. Upon arrival, I was informed by the waitress that none of the pizzas were available. As I was asking for other options, I was informed that some of the dishes were also not available. Practically 2/3 of the menu were out. I don't understand why they did not inform about this prior to my arrival. I would have had the chance to make another reservation. No explanation was given, nor the option to reschedule. The food was very mediocre. The pasta was overcooked to the point that they were falling apart. The steak was no better than the average cafeteria food. Staff seemed friendly.
