Soul. Rotušė — Restaurant in Kaunas

Well this was frustrating, traveling solo I’m used to being treated less than spectacular. AND I don’t speak Latvian but after 50 countries under my belt, this one surprised me. I ordered a glass of red wine sight unseen because the ENGLISH menu from the QR CODE (I hate that - thanks Dr Fauci) didn’t have an alcohol drink section. It was bad. Raisin bad. The Latvian menu has argentine wine by the glass 2.50 Euro. Well it better be because my first glass was tiny. 100ml to be exact. Now I see why its tiny, its cheap right? And Duck which was very good and a herring appetizer (I guess I shouldn’t order that as an appetizer because I don’t really like fish so much) Anyway total 30Euro so overcharged on all of the dishes. Each glass of wine was 4.50 (If I hadn’t had 3 I would have figured out what the issue was!!) It would have been cheaper to buy a bottle and throw half of it away. Also apologies to the waitress when I have no cash for a tip (though I did have to keep interrupting her to order and there was no one there. Took FOREVER to get the bill) and no room on the credit card payment. Also, these pictures are from the website so it is darn near impossible to figure out the menu. I should have left when I finished the first bad glass of wine.

This was the single worst experience I have had in a restaurant so far.

Firstly, we came there while there were practically no costumers there, so we were expecting a quick service, the staff took at least 10 minutes to notice us and when they came (and there were at least 5 working waiters) none of them spoke good English. When we ordered our food it took them roughly over and HOUR to bring it to us (keep in mind there were very few people actually there) and the food portion and taste was below average and the price was way too high for the food. Throughout the entire dinner they kept bringing us water even though no one was asking for it and then billed us for it in the end even though all of us denied asking for it. and then we had to wait for the bill an additional 20 minutes because the machine broke or something.

Overall it was an awful experience and I highly recommend for anyone going to the city of Kaunas to not go there because your entire day will be wasted on...

Vakar vakare 2024/04/30 atėjome vakarienės su draugu ir likome labai nusivylę. Atvykus niekam netupėjo 10 minučiu kol pats nepaprašiau Menu. Gavus Menu priėjo dar po 20min priimti užsakyma. Nu ok, matau kad busy viską suprantu. Užsisakau gazuoto vandens, šviežiai spaustu apelsinų-obuolių sulčių, lašišos tartara ir steika (aiškiai kelis kartus pasakau MEDIUM RARE, padavėja užsirašo). Draugas užsisakė Capuccino (tai buvo mažiausiai į tai panašu), limonado su passionfruit ir štrudelį. Gėrimai atkeliavo maždaug po 15-20 min, visi iškyrus mano sultis. Nu bet galvoju gerai užtrunka išspaust nes busy. Tada maistas. Mano tartaras ir steikas ateina vienu metu. Nu ok tipo taip db. Nesiskundžiu nes labai noriu valgyti. Pamaniau dar geriau nes nereiks laukti steiko. Tartarui beveik priekaistu neturiu, buvo gan skanu. Steiko eilė. Prapjaunu. Perkeptas. Nu galvoju pabandysiu. Dedu į burna draugas mato mano veida klausia kaip. Sakau lb blogai sausas ir perkeptas. Pasikviečiu vadybininkę Monika. Pirmiausiai paklausiu kur mano sultys nes jau 40 min praėjo. Ji nusijuokė ir sako sulčiu mes nedarome šiandiena. Klausiu kaip? Kodėl man tai sakote po 40 minučių, ji atsiprašo nu nedaro tai nedaro. Aišku reiktų informuoti klientui užsisakius. Steikas, jis perkeptas sakau Monikai. Ji man atsako, kad ne. (ikeliu foto kaip atrodė steikas ir kaip jis turėtų atrodyti). Aš sakau taip čia Medium Well o ne medium rare. Ji jau pikta man pakeltu balsu sako kad pas juos yra taip. Mintyse galvoju kad man nesvarbu kaip pas juos yra, mesos kepimo standartas visur vienodas. Sakau aš jo nevalgysiu. Ji šypsosi. Vyksta ginčas. Noriu nufotografuoti, ji griebia steika nuo stalo ir bėga, sakau palaukite leiskite man nugotografuoti. Sako KAM TAU REIKIA. Jau mane tujina. Nu puikiai vadovauja restoranui. Ikalbu kad leistu. Leidzia. Sako parodyk nuotrauka. Wow galvoju kodel aš privalau rodyti kažka. Čia aš klientas ar Monika. Nu okay, parodau. Sako yra rausvo. Sakau yra bet cia medium well ne medium rare. Dar viso pokalbio metu ji man vis sake kad taip atrodo medium. Bet as ir medium neužsisakiau. Uzsisakiau MEDIUM RARE. Ji tiesiog nueina. Be nieko. Jokio atsiprašau. Jokio pasiulymo iskepti kita. Lieku nesuprates gausiu kita ar ne. Ar jau teikia eiti maisto ieskoti kitur. Buvau pastatytas i labai keista situacija kur ant manes šaukia ir bando kazka irodyti vietoj to kad tiesiog atsiprasytu. Neesu to patyres. Rankos dreba. Kalbam su draugu kas cia buvo ir kodel ji taip sau leidzia elgtis. Monika daugiau niekada nepriejo. Papraseme saskaitos. Sakaitoj nebuvo nei steiko nei sulciu. Susimokame. Nerekomenduoju!!!! Vadovam rekomenduoju pasikalbeti su Monika, nes gal ji tiesiog negali dirbti sio darbo. Bivo...
