Al Cantuccio — Restaurant in Kaunas

You want a place in Kaunas which is cozy and feels like home? Well, you found it. You want to know the reason why?

First of all, Al Cantuccio stuff is extremely friendly and caring. If it is hard for you to decide what to order, they will be always at you service. I must mention, that the whole atmosphere is so cozy that you want to stay longer. One of the main advantages that it is not in the most crowded streets of Old Town. So if you want to avoid all the noise, go here.

In the spring, Al Cantucio adds some tables outside, you can relax with the glass of wine or their delicious home made lemonade.

Food. Oh, I loved it. You can choose to eat all kind of things. Of course, it is Italian restaurant, so you won't be able to find some Lithuanians dishes. I ate few times, it was really delicious. If you want pasta, but you extremely concerned about eating the food with gluten, well Al Cantuccio got your back. You can made your own pasta, just tell the staff. If you are on a run and want a fast, delicious breakfast , they have it. The most amazing thing is that they add raw vegetables to the omelette and etc. Desserts are way good to be true. 🤣

Poor service and unprofessional. They forgot my girlfriends’ order, and they did not check up with us or on the order. My girlfriend had to walk up to the servers’ station to check the status of her food personally. Unacceptable, and meanwhile the manager was focusing all her attention to a table because they brought in two cute dogs, instead of focusing on the service. She pet the dogs and did not wash her hand before serving other customer which was disgusting. When the server brought the bill we asked about the extended wait time and she just took the matter to the manager. The manager adjusted the bill and said that “I took the item of the bill, okay?”. She did not seem concerned about the matter and neither was she apologetic, then she proceed to take my plate of the table without asking if I was finished. A person that have no common sense nor does she have any sympathy should not be in this...

Nice cosy place with a homey environment, but painfully slow service. I mean if you are not hungry yet, just go take a table and estimate that your food will arrive 1,5h later. I’ve seen people leaving after they only had their drinks and could wait for their food any longer. Others had to run straight after paying the bill as waitresses took 15min to bring a card machine. Food is really good, but environment is quite messy and untidy. They clean tables just with a wet cloth and don’t use disinfectant spray (during a global pandemic!). Their toilet is filthy and untidy, the paper bin was covered with a pile of used paper tissues.
