The most wonderful and the biggest cathedral of Kaunas) It is located not far from the Rathaus in the Old Town. Construction of the cathedral began in 1413 and finished in 1655. It was made a minor basilica in 1921. Despite the restrained facade, the interior of the building is striking in its magnificence. You will be impressed with the fabulous interior decoration. There are beautiful icons and unique paintings on the church's walls. Well-kept area and renovated building....

A nice historical church worth a visit. I give it 5 stars because of this, but I had a very strange experience here. For me it felt empty, lost, dead. Hard to feel calm inside this church. I usually find myself calm and relaxed in churches but not here. Something made me just want to leave the church. I stayed for about 15 minutes but when I got out I felt a bit stressed, disturbed and irritated.
