Rebels — Restaurant in Kaunas

Disclaimer - did not try the food so cannot review This is my first ever Google review as I've never felt the need to write one before, as an Irishman I wasn't expecting an authentic Irish bar outside of Ireland, I merely went here because I was craving a pint of Guinness and this place was one of few who served it, that being said it was a terrible experience from beginning to end. The staff were bored teenagers who wanted to sit on there phones and chat more than serve drinks/food. I observed a very blatantly racist interaction between a member of staff and a black man with the words "We have no Guinness left" being replied to him after he tried to order a pint (he did get a pint in the end but it was awful to watch). An Irish bar is supposed to be warm, welcoming, friendly and this fell very short of the mark. Again, I wasn't expecting the real atmosphere of an actual Irish bar in Kaunas, Lithuania BUT when you decide to claim the title of "Rebels Irish Bar" you expect some sort of a resemblance. I would not darken the doorstep with my shadow again and I would advise others to do the same. All the talk of "really genuine Irish pub atmosphere" is by local guides who have obviously never been to Ireland. Remove the title of Irish bar and people won't...

What can I say about this place. Pros-Has out door and indoor bar area. Has out door tv and the bar man did hook up the laptop to allow us to watch a football match on RTE player. Con- the service is shocking poor. The bar man. Friendly initially but utter useless. Very explained that when we order drinks, we had to open a at. Tried to explain that we were any to buy rounds but said that we had to run a tab. Secondly- decided to memorise food and drink orders from at least 8 people. I have decent memory but come on. We offered to write it down but he got stubborn and insist that he can remember and if he can remember, he will come back. FFS. He finally wrote down the menu but got us all confused with the tab. We said, we will buy a round and no tab , but he was adamant about tab. Will I go there again. ABSOLUTELY NO. Never and Ever.

Maybe, it was coincidense, but when I came here everyone who was around me was talking English. I really felt that I'm in a movie or somewhere in the pub in Ireland. So yes, it's a nice place to buy a drink, spend time and chat with your friends or colleagues. There are large TV inside to watch sports and great music was playing in the background. Lots of drinks to choose from their menu. The only thing I didn't like was their meals. People who were sitting near us also were babbling that they expected something different than that what they got. And the taste was average, maybe next time when I visit them, I will try their burger, heard that...
