Duck Spring Rolls Cons: the soft flavor had the same effect as pickled ginger in a sushi dish. Another observation; you could barely taste the duck. Pros: The dish was generally fulfilling for an appetizer.
Soft-shell Crab Tempura Cons: The dish had an overwhelming taste of salt. The avocado/sesame seed sauce seemed out of place with the dish, nor did it compliment it. Pros: Eventhough the waitress warned us that the dish is not so pleasant (which seemed very informal and unprofessional for a restoraunt of this level); we still enjoyed the dish - it's flavor and size. The tempura was not soggy and the after-taste was pleasant and spicy.
Spicy Tuna Maki Cons: Small personal issue with the presentation of the dish, it seemed that there were random profucts placed on the plate without any reason; the dish looked dense. Pros: The spiciness was a very great touch for the spectrum of flavors that the sushi provided. The spiciness came after the main flavor which evaded the result of a bland flavor. Great after-taste.
Hamachi Maki Cons: The truffles seemed like the focus of the dish but it seemed that they were absent. Yuzu sauce was the flavor that demolished any other essence of ingredients. The presentation seemed messy without a reason. Pros: The tuna felt fresh and tender which was a pleasant effect.
Sake Sashimi Cons: Sashimi had a small but potent after-taste of salmon which should not exist in a Sashimi dish. The only explanation that seems plausible is that the fish was not very fresh.
Pros: It was tender and had an interesting presentation with liquid Nitrogen or dry ice; we were not sure.
Bloody Mary: Cons: the drink could be cold without the ice because very quickly the flavor gets diluted. This issue is a personal observation. Pros: The cocktail was splendid! We enjoyed it a lot.
Golden Age: Cons: The taste had an exaggeration of sweetness Pros: The general mixture of flavors has completed our expectations. The presentation was...
Read moreHorrible Service, good food. This happened 4/13/2018, approx 7:30 pm. Outside terrace. Order Prosecco for starters on a wonderful spring evening. Order Sushi and curry and beer. Sushi arrives without soy sauce, curry without a spoon. No Napkins. No waiter around at all to ask for soy sauce or a spoon or napkins. Walk to reception and ask for it. After food, asked for dessert menu. Received dessert menu... decide to order lava cake...waiter does not came back. 30 minutes later, waiter really never comes back. Walk to reception to ask for check as no longer in mood for dessert. Politely explain what is going on, they say 'ok we'll get the check' While I wait for check at reception they bring the check to my table outside!... mmm ok. Go outside, no waiter to pay the check to... Walk back to reception, check in hand. Pay check at reception. Politely look around if anyone interested in finding out why I am paying at reception or maybe why I am slightly dissatisfied at service? Nope, nobody seems to care. Went home, not sure I'll come...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Bizarre for their New Year's brunch and I have to say, it was an amazing experience. The eggs were particularly delicious, and I would highly recommend trying the mix eggs. The crispy rice tuna was just as delicious as their probably best-selling appetiser in Nida. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the textures were spot on.
But the food was not the only thing that impressed me, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. They made sure that my dining experience was as enjoyable as possible.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great, it was cozy and intimate which made for a great New Years brunch. The decor was modern and elegant, and the lighting was just right.
I highly recommend visiting Bizarre for a memorable meal, whether it's for a special occasion or just a casual dinner. You won't be...
