📍 Spot: Tummo, Vilnius 💰 Damage: On the pricier side, but worth every cent for the quality
⚡ Long Story Short: A much-needed addition to Vilnius’ gastronomic scene, perfect for those seeking more than just the typical brunch fare. Unique, well-executed, and absolutely delicious.
THE STORY: 🔥 First Impression: Tummo brings something fresh to Vilnius - a concept-driven space where food, design, and atmosphere align effortlessly. The modern, well-thought-out interior, complete with carefully curated art and stylish elements, sets the perfect stage for a standout dining experience. The service? Quiet, relaxed, and non-intrusive, letting the food take center stage.
👅 Taste Test:
Flavors: If you’re not a traditional eggs-for-brunch kind of person, this place is a dream. Though they do have a few egg-based dishes, they don’t shine as much as the rest of the menu. My dish - "Chopped wheat and roasted pumpkin" with extra feta - was pure magic. A perfect balance of warmth, depth, and nourishment, leaving me satisfied yet feeling light. The chicken souvla and smoked hummus with kale were absolute flavor bombs, packed with complexity. Just divine.
Presentation: Simple yet refined, with a clear focus on letting ingredients shine.
💁 Service Check:
Attitude: Relaxed, unobtrusive, but attentive when needed.
Speed: No rush, allowing guests to truly enjoy the moment.
Knowledge: They know their craft, from food to coffee.
✨ The Experience:
Highlights: The heavenly food quality, the thoughtfully designed space, and - finally - a brunch spot offering multiple coffee bean options. Being able to choose from Colombian, classic, and other varieties is a rare and much-appreciated touch.
Letdowns: Prices are on the higher end, but once you taste the food, you understand why.
🏁 Final Verdict: Tummo is a must-visit for those looking to elevate their brunch game beyond the ordinary. Every dish is packed with intention and bold flavors, and with their upcoming evening concept and mind-blowing cocktails on the horizon, I’m already impatient to come...
Read moreGood design, but everything else needs an upgrade. The staff is trying hard and they probably do their best. There is a clear issue with organization and communication. We were asked to seat at one table , then moved to the bar because it was apparently booked, for finally being offered to go back to the same table. They might have improved since our visit end of March. If I understand the concept they are promoting healthy food, the problem is that what we ordered was tasteless, minimalist and pricy. 40 euros for 2 coffees and 2 souvlaki.
There is a struggle at the coffee machine with 2 waiters but a long wait to get drinks. Animal friendly cafes are nice - but if the staff is petting animals they must wash their hands. Waitress are struggling to enter the kitchen with the trays because they are too big and the door too small.
There is potential, but it needs...
