It was 3pm and we were hunting for Korean food at, where else, Korea Town. Our favourite restaurant was closed and reviews for Kang San Ae were good, on Google. So, give it a try we did...

And it's now one of my top 3 Korean restaurants to go to in KL. The food was delicious; the kimchi jiggae was excellent, with the right amountnor savoury tartness accentuated by the rich flavour seeping through from the slices of pork belly.

The grilled chicken was fantastic, though just a smidgeon sweeter than expected. But it went down very well; the pieces of chicken were culled from thigh and drumsticks, ensuring that we were served only juicy morsels.

And the banchan... Frankly it was fantastic. There were only about 5-6 varieties, but I must admit being spoiled; my favourite restaurant serves a whopping 12 kinds. But the lack of a similar variety is made up by depth and quantity of what was served.

Was it pricey? Yes. Mandu, grilled chicken, two bowls of kimchi jiggae set us back about RM135, for 2 pax. Was it worth it? A resounding yes. Would I come...

Craving for korean so went to this "little korea" area in ampang, randomly selected this place... first impression was good, it got that vintage korean restaurant feel, the food was great, exceeds my expectation, in particular the japchae, kimchi, pork belly and chicken bbq, i would normally give 5 star for this however need to downgrade to 4 star because i find the service was a bit poor, the waiter does not speak english (although they are trying) and the owner (i think) korean lady wasn't very friendly, anyways we will come back for the food... hopefully they improve...

This is my 2nd time visiting this restaurant within a week. I was alone this round, while asking for refill half of the side dishes (3 out of the 6) the lady boss saw the side dishes and probably complain to the foreigner staff and also upon completed the meal, the owner immediately cleared my plates while asking me have I finished the meals, before I can replied, I have finished the meal. The whole experience make me feel like I am not welcome just because I was 1 person. Haiz... And also P/S: no receipt given for my 2 visits and also a 10% extra...
