So, my bf wanted to try here since he saw the review from KL foodie.
🔹Started queuing - 6.30pm (10th in line) 🔹Finally sat down (but at the next door restaurant) - 7.00pm, placed order at 7.10pm 🔹First dish - 7.45pm (mushroom soup RM7) 🔹Second dish - 8.24pm (smoke duck aglio olio RM25) 🔹Third dish - 9.10pm (we left the restaurant coz beef wellington didn't come)
The next door restaurant is called Suria Tomyam. The owner left the place around 6.50pm, then the restaurant staff ask the customers who were queuing to sit beside there since the seating is open air and the tables and chairs are not locked up. That's when the nightmare happened coz the staff messed up the order as the tables obviously belongs to the next door restaurant, and orders keep getting mixed up / left out.
Since I was so tired of waiting for the last dish, we paid for whatever we ate and left.
My bf had time to kill, so he went to the kitchen and saw 2 Chinese cooks, old & young in the kitchen. They cook very very fast but the staff are the ones keep messing up the orders. There is no system in place coz they don't use a POS, everything is handwritten paper & no supervisor / manager to manage the place. They really need help to keep the staff in check.
The mushroom soup & smoke duck aglio olio were very good. But will I come back again? No, sorry! Time is precious to me, a lot of things could have been done being productive during the waiting time. I cannot bear to wait so long, not knowing if my food will come or not. The longest time I ever waited for food was queuing for 3 hrs at a Michelin star restaurant in BKK, but once we sat down, food came very fast!
Honestly, in Klang Valley there are abundance of cafes / restaurants serving good western food in air-conditioned environment. Please do yourself a favour to go somewhere else where you will be treated better. The only thing that is unique about this place is, it's old school food court style (with ceiling fans) & they have affordable beef wellington for RM70 only! Beef wellington usually is found in fancier places & more expensive.
Restaurant is owned by Chinese, staff are all Malay. There is no halal sign but there's quite a lot of Malay patrons. Eat at...

Let embark on a culinary journey that will leave a lasting impression.
Tucked away in a food court reminiscent of times gone by, this dining experience offers a rare escape from the modern dining hustle. If you're seeking a one-of-a-kind culinary adventure and are willing to trade air-conditioning and speedy service for incredible flavors, this hidden gem is a must-visit. Else, PLEASE STAY AWAY.
As you step into this rustic setting, BE PREPARED to leave behind the comforts of modernity. The absence of air-conditioning and the lack of a POS ordering system might seem unusual, but it's all part of the charm that makes this place special. Embrace the simplicity and authenticity of the experience.
From the start, top-notch service is not their focus. However, if you're willing to slow down and savor every moment, you'll be rewarded with a meal that's well worth the wait. Recent popularity on social media seems to have impacted their service, but the true stars here are the dishes themselves. (PATIENCE)
The Mushroom Soup sets the stage for the feast to come, offering a comforting and rich start to your journey. The Apple Asam Boi introduces a delightful contrast with its tangy and sweet interplay, a unique flavor combination that tantalizes the taste buds.
The main course, the steak and beef Wellington steal the show. These dishes are a testament to the chef's expertise, each bite a symphony of flavors and textures that will leave you craving more. The wait time of 45 minutes to an hour may test your patience, but trust me, the anticipation only adds to the satisfaction of every bite. (PATIENCE)
In summary, this is not your typical dining destination. It's a place to escape the ordinary, to slow down, and to relish in the simple pleasures of exceptional food (PATIENCE). Read moreThis place is a cozy family diner that seems to bring you back in time to have a taste of the colonial dishes made by the Hainanese chefs for the Brit lords. They have recently named the steak diner "Tim's"
They open from Monday to Saturday and my wife and I have frequent this diner for both it's all day chicken rice and evening only (1800-2200)steak house since 2008 (longer for her because she has been eating here since she was a kid)
A must try is their homemade mushroom soup that has stayed at rm5 through all hard times in Malaysia. Unlike most steak diners that serves canned soup, kudos to the chef who prepare their own. Just bring your own truffle oil to zing it up :)
You should try pretty much every dish that comes off a broiler as they render the fats just right to give a charred flavor and crispy edge to your meat of choice. Just remember if you don't like gravy doused on your meat always ask to have the gravy on the side.
The side dishes that accompany the meat also gives you the notion that there is a passionate chef behind the counter that cares. You don't get deep fried pre packed crinkle cut fries and boiled frozen mixed veg. Instead they serve you sautéed vegetables with a serving of their meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Oh, and try their baked escargot.
Truly a place that is value for money. Average spend here per pax is approx rm20 for a decent dinner. For rm40 you will have a great time. Btw, cash only.
If Tim the chef/owner is reading this, we hope you keep up the spirit and that we can continue to dine here for the...
