IN-DEPTH REVIEW
Smash Burger
-I had double patty, and the patties were cooked to perfection. It worked so well with it’s caramelised onions, cheese and their special-in-house burger sauce -the buns were out of the world fluffy and buttered & toasted well, it followed the perfect burger bun ratio than gave an amazing satisfaction upon biting and eating -the fried sweet potato fries was deliciously crispy on the outside while being pefectly cooked on the inside. A great flavor complement to the burger that gives off a harmonious balance of salt, fat and acid. -the salad in it’s side looks delectable but personally, only the pomegranate looks appealing. And it’s my personal preference that I do not prefer salads on my burger meal.
Laksa Fettucine
-its fettucine pasta was only slightly al dente side -the crema was reminiscent of a nyonya laksa soup that was reduced and some cream might have been added in the process -works well especially when you eat it together with it’s garnish of daun kesum (vietnamese coriander leaves) that is a vital ingredient of what makes a laksa, a laksa -it was a seafood pasta, so there were squid, shrimp and clams infused in. The seafood portion was generous -personally, I detected a pungent and tart flavor in the cream of the pasta but otherwise everything else is great
Pumpkin Bread
-my highest rated dish of all, eventhough technically it’s a starter/snack -the bread was toasted, giving off the amazing sweet & nutty aroma of the bread. Various seeds were infused in the bread, amongst them are sunflower seeds -just by itself, the pumpkin bread is already amazing -the dish was also accompanied by 3 spreads: nut butter, blackberries jam & ricotta cheese. FUN FACT: all of the spreads are made in-house! -the nut butter was tremendously delicious that the cafe plan to jar and sell them in the future -the combination of all three spreads on top of the already flavorful bread -10/10 would definitely come for it again, buy the pumpkin bread and spreads to bring home
Pesto Penne Pasta With Grilled Chicken:
-the penne was definitely al dente -the grilled chicken was nicely seasoned, great color on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. Almost as if they sous vide the chicken breasts -the pesto sauce was delectably unique, instead of using pine nuts, they used sunflower seeds. It is also made fresh in house and not pre-made
Orange Coffee (Iced)
-one of the most unique drinks I’ve ever had that is coffee based -it had the tangy orange taste and also the bitterness from the coffee -it also had a stick of rosemary and a dried orange slice on top of it that looks aesthetically pleasing
OVERALL RATING: 9/10 -its a new cafe, only operational less than a month. Despite that, everything was good -Everything here screams of HIGH QUALITY. To the interior, the service, the food, the staffs. Kudos to the team -It’s definitely money well spent...
Read moreI visited the cafe at around 6pm. As I was trying to open the door, a crew came right in front of me to block the entrance, asking if I want to dine here, I said yes, then only he let me step into the cafe.
He then pointed to a few seats and said I’m only allowed to sit there, otherwise I need to sit outside the restaurant because all seats indoor are reserved for Iftar menu, despite the whole cafe was empty when I stepped in, and he didn’t even know what I wanted to order.
It’s understandable for such policy hence I chose an outdoor table with no fuss, telling him that it’s fine, I’ll sit here and move in after the dinner time if I ever need to use the power plug.
I settled down at the table, put down my laptop and bags, asked the same crew if I can order with him because I already knew what I wanted to order. He said I should order inside at the counter, then he walked away, bringing water bottle and glasses to reset an empty table inside the cafe and then did nothing afterwards.
I carried all my bags once again, headed inside to order, only to be told that I should just take a seat and they will take my order at the table. I ordered, and paid at the counter anyway, came out to an empty table with no water still, and then saw the same crew was waiting, taking order patiently from a Malay couple next to my table. Was the restaurant busy at that moment? No, that was the only table he needed to serve besides my table.
I dun understand what’s with the double standard. I wasn’t rude, didn’t even insist to sit inside or say or do anything at all to deserve this disrespectful service.
I complained to your supervisor, he wasn’t surprised at all, this doesn’t seem to be the first complaint.
At 8:30pm, I’m still being denied an indoor table despite the cafe was half empty.
I came because they serve single origin coffee and I thought their coffee would be good or at least decent, but was utterly disappointed. If anyone here looking for a good cup of coffee, you should just save your time and money, and head over to the Coffee Bean nearby. As a coffee enthusiast, I can tell you, both their coffee and services are way...
Read moreNoticed this cafe in ampang for quite awhile & finally came to try after work around 8pm yesterday.
When I was outside the cafe trying to snap a photo of the environment, the waiter was so kind, opened the door and patiently waiting for me to come in. This made me felt delighted & welcomed to be here.
Fish and chips 7/10 – fish had the “ocean” taste (some may dislike, but I like it) and the tartar sauce wasn’t sour enough (I really like my tartar sauce sour) but it is a good dish tho.
Caesar salad 8/10 – Fresh veges, great texture from crunchy croutons & beef bacon. Nailed poached egg with runny yolk too. They gave the sauce separately. This allowed me to control the amount of sauce I wanted. So, plus point for this! 😊 Some cafes don’t do this, so I really appreciate it.
Beef Lasagna 7/10 – It’s cheesy so it satisfied my cheese cravings haha. Just wish they put little bit more bechamel sauce.
Beef Pizza 8/10 – they opened a sourdough-based pizza shop next door. The sourdough base was good; not too thick nor thin & not soggy at all. All pizza is 11 inch so it’s huge.
Chicken wings 11/10 – 6 pieces tender & moist with BBQ glazed. They don’t just grill the chicken and pour the sauce on top like usual cafes. They glazed it then grilled it which was SOOO GOOD. chef’s kiss
Ice Chocolate 11/10 – they had 2 types in menu; House blend (2 types of choco) & Single blend is 1 type of choco. We ordered House blend chocolate and it was some good choco drink I’ve had in awhile. Could taste the good quality bitterness of the cocoa.
Overall, had a very pleasant dinner here. Service was great, staffs were attentive and awesome music playlist. Vibe checked✅ (even had HSM3 Sharpay’s I Want It All), should play some hip-hop songs.
Recommend coming here to try & I’ll def be back to try other stuff. Their desserts & crafted drinks looked so good...
