Famed for its' "sang har mien" or braised prawn mee. This shop was formerly located at the ground level of Life Centre some 20 odd years ago. Now located at Pandan Indah, the parking space is very limited and rhe local council is known to clam on illegally parked cars so watch out. You may of course opt to double park in front of the shop but this worsen the traffic in the area. On last visit for lunch on a Friday, our group consists of 10 pax. Comments on the dishes ordered are as follows. (1) Braised prawn deep fried "wonton" mee? The 2& 1/2 prawns are fresh and quite large and the mee was crispy but the gravy was too salty. Price at RM140. (2) Braised prawn "yee" mee . The 2&1/2 prawns are fresh and even larger but again the gravy was too salty. Also compare to deep fried mee, the "yee" mee not as nice. Price at RM160. One thing to note is that the price of this braised prawn mee varies according to market price and size of the prawns, so one better ask for daily price when ordering (3) Fried mee hoon ala "sing chau mai" style was decent enough and at least it is not too salty . Price at RM30. (4) Stir fried pig intestine is passable. Price is about RM20+ I think. (5) Stir fried vegetable just the normal stuff (6) Also ordered stir fried pig liver which although taste decent but the slices were cut too thin and thus lacking in "bite". All in the bill including for chinese tea for 10 pax comes to RM470+ with no GST added. Depending on individual's opinion, it might not seemed pricey for 10 pax BUT bear in mind this is at a shoplot and the main dishes are braised and fried noodles only! Personally, I don't think it's worth paying almost RM500 for...
Read moreMy first time was great! Unfortunately, it is hit and miss. The second time when I went there, I ordered the same thing but it was not as good.
My first experience: I ordered big prawn Sang Har Mee (In picture), the price was a bit shocking as that costed RM100. I was fine with the price after tasting it, the prawns were big and tasted fresh.
I was being informed that I should order normal prawn Sang Har Mee and it should cost only RM20. My second experience: I ordered normal prawn Sang Har Mee and was being told that there were only medium prawns left and so it will cost RM30. The noodle type was not the same as the 1st experience although I asked for the same thing.
The RM100 and RM30 portions were similar. The prawns were slightly smaller for RM30, but quality is same. The 2nd experience was not as flavourful and was quite salty.
A daily updated price board would inform customers better and make customers feel that they are treated equally and feel that the price is not randomly decided. Gaining customers' trust is important.
When it is good, it is reallyyyy good. Risk it for...
Read moreThis shop is famous for the prawn Yee mee or sang har sang min. Be prepare to pay high price for the big river prawn. We only order the normal Ying Yang that also come with smaller prawn. Add a dry Kueh teow or kon chow hor and fried pig intestine - not crunchy as expected. Compare with pre mco the quality has dropped. The service is fast though. Immediate attention upon walking in. Only drawback they don't serve sambal belacan to go with the fried noddles. Place is without air cond. Only some fans. Used to be crowded and need to qué. Gone are the days after MCO. Parking can be issue. Park further and walk over. A lot of pork liver in whatever dish you...
