Also as Sarawakian from Kuching, I’ve got to say the kolo mee was quite disappointing. The noodle texture felt overly starchy, possibly from old batch boiling water without replacing it. The red coloring looked overly artificial and it completely lacked that signature fried shallot oil fragrance. The only saving grace was the char siew, which decent.
As for the Wa Tan Ho seafood which only consisted of fried fish fillet and meatballs, the gravy was slightly watery. Flavour was passable but didn’t hit the silky consistency you’d expect. Definitely underwhelming at that price...
