Meranti Cafe — Restaurant in Borneo

Second time in 2/3 weeks here for dinner/lunch. Reading unpaid reviews here apparently I’m not alone to say that the service here is terrible.

We spent hundreds of ringgit here to eat, but you really had to beg for the extra glass of warm water from the waitress to come. When I calmly approached one of the waitress to remind her about it, she raised her hand as if to tell me to stop talking.

Orders took long long time to arrive, my child’s simple meal took 30 mins to come. But apparently if you look like an expat, then your order will come early. Evidenced by the Caucasian couple next to our table who came later, they received and completed their meal before even 2 out of 5 dish we ordered arrived.

No use on summoning the floor manager regarding your concern, because he/she will disappear right after with no feedback.

Food is what you expected of the price paid, presentation was ok. But the quality of the service here is so terrible that it is hard to enjoy the meal while after being irritated.

Will I come back here? Absolutely not, until they improve their service quality and be attentive to their customers.

There are other hotels around in KK who has better customer service with...

Hands down, the eatery has improved beyond what I imagined. It had been a while since I visited Meranti Café and I just have to say, during my recent visit, they have gone above and beyond to make significant betterments to give their customers a very satisfying dining experience!

The tastes of their dishes have improved 300%, the ambience and table settings have changed for the better to deliver maximum comfort and an insta-worthy environment, and service has improved to give customers a hospitable experience.

I highly recommend everyone to TRY the NEW version of Meranti Café. Even the new menu design packs a rather "je ne sais quoi" vibe that encourages readers to make multiple orders.

Located at Sabah International Convention Centre, customers may expect heavy number of customers when events are happening there as well as a rather peaceful surrounding with lesser customers when no events are held there. I want to leave a review, not partily bad not partily good. Room for improvement. We arrive at your cafe greeted with welcome by your staff member Yumni and Vanessa. Had a wonderful meal with my friends, which i enjoyed your homemade burger and fresh lemongrass. However, when i about to settled our bill, approached the cashier counter because we want to take away some of your delicious pastries home. The ‘cashier’ rudely asked us ‘meja mana?’ No smile seem she just woke up or something. My friend said we want some cake to bring home. She said ‘ba’ and call her colleauge, without even move fron her precious chair. Ok! Then i said never mind , no need cake then. I just want to settle the bill. I asked for the bill again. And again she asked ‘meja mana’… still no smile. Then i settle the bill. Again she ‘mau receipt?’ Omg? I cant digest, of couse i want a receipt. And she dont even move...
