We came per my bro's rave review, and it didn't disappoint! Located at KK's Jesselton Quay, this restaurant may appear quiet, but its culinary prowess is amazing. We especially loved the Thai style stirfry squid - it was tender and perfectly cooked with just the right balance. I'll have this to myself next time :-). The white clam with spring onion ginger was full of wok hei. So was the simple sabah veggy stirfry. The fried vermicelli arrived flat, almost like a pancake. However once we fluffed it up, lots of seafood pieces popped up full of wok hei. Yum! Tried the crab in steam egg per their recommendation - Nice! The pricing is abit on the high side compared to the local seafood restaurant in KK.

I had an exquisite dining experience at this seafood restaurant! The ambiance was delightful, with a cozy, garden-inspired decor that set the perfect tone. The menu was a treasure trove of fresh catches, and each dish was a culinary masterpiece. The crab was rich and flavorful, and was a 💯 combination of mantou and the crab's sauce was cooked to perfection—tender and bursting with delicate seasoning. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. From start to finish, this restaurant exceeded my expectations, offering a delightful journey through the ocean's finest flavors. A definite must-visit for seafood enthusiasts!

Mercure front office team recommended Seremban Seafood. We dont believed it we look for our last love near Horizon Hotel. Went there but no longer exist. Then we went online Waze ourself to Seremban Seafood. Looks luxury set up inside with live aquarium. Well equipped and well train team of waiter. The owner manger engaged to asked recommendation. Brocolli, Coral Fish Steam, Flower Crab with Salted Egg and Chilli Sauce ia suoerb and highly recommended, Mayonnaise Fried Prawn, Cooked Garlic Oyster is highly recommended. Great Chinese Tea. Love it. RM 336 in total as asked of price for each dish. Reasonable as quality.

First impressions count, and Seremban Seafood Restaurant at Jesselton Quay certainly delivers on looks. With its contemporary design, posh ambience, and a welcoming atmosphere spread across both the ground and upper floor dining areas, it creates a comfortable setting for family gatherings, celebrations, or casual dinners by the waterfront.

The service is warm and attentive. The staff make the effort to ensure guests are settled, though as with any growing establishment, there’s always room for improvement to elevate the overall dining experience.

We sampled a variety of dishes—crab, prawns, steamed fish, sea cucumber, and butter chicken. The seafood arrived fresh and presented beautifully. Some items, such as the prawns and fish, felt a little undercooked to my taste. Perhaps this is the restaurant’s unique style of preparing seafood, which regular patrons may appreciate more. Personally, I found it slightly unfamiliar, but it may be worth exploring further as part of their signature offering.

Overall, Seremban Seafood Restaurant offers a stylish dining environment, good service, and fresh seafood that sets it apart as a dining option in Kota Kinabalu. With some fine-tuning in preparation style to suit a wider range of diners, it definitely has the potential to become a go-to destination for seafood lovers...

We went with an expectation that we would have a nice sumptuous dinner as the nice deco and unique menu were a good start. Here are a few negatives:

  1. corkage was charged at RM60, too expensive for any local restaurants in KK
  2. their 'Famous' grilled crabs were overcooked and left little to be desired
  3. prawns were not fresh, restaurant manager asked us to swap to a different style of cooking as they had 'accidentally' cooked it but we insisted on what we ordered, a little unprofessional to try to amend their 'mistake' 4) looked like they had only 1 chef and they requested us to make order in advance but we didn't so we were told we had to wait, and we waited quite long, bad impression for first timers
  4. PLEASE do not order their 'signature tofu', there was nothing special and absolutely amateurish
  5. for 4 persons with average food and BYO wine, we were charged RM420, definitely not quite what we expected & felt hard to stomach the bill size, no pun intended.
  6. our wine was the only saving grace

My advice is for travellers is to do some research on all the seafood restaurants available in KK and don't be fooled by the nice deco and new locations, there are plenty of cheaper and better food...

The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming ambiance, with friendly staff and prompt service.

The menu offers a wide variety of seafood dishes, with a focus on local Malaysian cuisine. I particularly enjoyed the butter prawns, which were cooked to perfection and had a rich, savory flavor. The salted egg squid was also a standout dish, with a unique combination of crispy texture and bold seasoning.

The portions were generous, making it a great value for the price, and the seafood was fresh and flavorful. The restaurant also offers a good selection of non-seafood dishes for those who prefer other types of cuisine.

One small drawback was that the restaurant can get quite busy during peak hours, leading to longer wait times. However, the staff did their best to accommodate everyone and keep things moving smoothly.

Overall, I would highly recommend Seremban Seafood Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Malaysian seafood...
