Went there during Mother’s Day. When I made the online reservation, it stated on their website that there’s a deposit system, rm 25 per person and if you didn’t show up or last minute cancellation, they might charge you. However, the route up to batu feringgi was very jam and we called to inform them before our booking slot that we’ll be late for around 15mins. When the time hits our booking time, they called again to ask if we’re coming, which we just updated them 10mins ago. Upon reaching, the waiter brought us to a table that was occupied, she went to check but she never came back (Hope she’s fine tho ). Due to the fire performance starting, another waiter ask us to sit down as we’re blocking the view. And it frustrates me because I‘ve booked a sit and wasn’t even given one. Where should I sit? On a magic carpet and fly away? Because I would.
After we finally settled down on another table, the fire performers would come near you to do some fire tricks, like how Haidilao workers would perform pulling noodles near your face but fire version. Literally. They would come near you and spin the fire right infront of your face. Did you volunteer? Definitely not. But apparently, the chances of getting their “fire blessings” on your face is higher than your chances of winning Toto. Honestly, not all forms of performance is meant to be interactive, especially when there’s fire involve. Most of the “lucky” customers who were chosen to get the “fire blessing” wasn’t even smiling, I see more fear on their faces than enjoyment. Not quite sure why are we paying to get picked to experience fire straight up at our face…probably to get new trauma because why not? The more the merrier right?
THE FOOD TOOK FOREVER TO ARRIVE. We were given a sit direct under the speaker that was playing loud ass dj music (must be a punishment for being stuck in the jam) and we sat there for an hour, the food wasn’t even arriving, despite asking again, again and again. They finally told us they haven’t even started preparing our orders due to the huge amount of customers. At this point, my family was hungry, have to talk shouting because of our sits location, and my dad, a senior citizen was given the Haidilao “fire blessings” treatment straight on his face. I wonder why do I jam my way till here for all this?
Finally, we cancelled our order and decided to leave. Because why should we continue spending money and time here? Toilet was far, you’ll need to queue. And worst, we got stuck at the parking lot for an hour due to everyone leaving after the fire show as they only have 1 exit entrance. We were hungry, disappointed, none were happy about the experience.
It felt like this place just wasn’t ready for such huge amount of customers. But they’ll still continue taking in more customers and orders despite knowing they weren’t able to deliver. Because why not? The more the...
Read moreHave totally loved our time in Penang but sadly Ferringhi Heart Beach Club was the lowlight of an otherwise fantastic experience. The place has a fantastic location & will no doubt be full every night on this fact alone but it lets itself down with mediocre food and exceptionally bad service. We ordered soft drinks to start - pretty simple, right? After 20 minutes we watched the waiter take drinks to customers in front of us who clearly indicated they didn't order them. The staff member just left them the drinks. We called the waiter over to explain they were our drinks & she just walked off. Eventually another staff member turned up and we ordered another drink, which eventually turned up. Meanwhile the same waiter arrived to take the drinks away from the customers who did not order them. Not a great start but everyone can make a mistake and we acknowledged the language barrier. Another waiter appeared to take our food order & told us it was happy hour for cocktails - lovely! Things are looking up. We ordered pizza & cocktails & settled in to watch sunset. After half an hour nothing had arrived. We then watched as the waiters wondered around trying to find someone who ordered pizzas & eventually we got their attention and our food. The pizzas were worse than mediocre and looked like they were a frozen supermarket variety. Still no cocktails. Finally another staff member - may have been a manager - arrived to tell us that there were no happy hour cocktails on this night. Not happy but we persisted with an order for cocktails (because the are we were sitting in required a RM150 spend). When we complained to the manager about everything being taken to other customers he implied it was our fault because the particular table we were at usually sits in a different spot, even though we were directed to it by one of his staff members. Even after this, it was a good fifteen minutes later the cocktails arrived and they were still taken to the people in front of us. Again we had to shout that they were our drinks. Finally getting the drinks we settled back to enjoy them when the manager arrived telling us we would have to pay if we wanted to order anything more. We asked for the bill & he brought it asking for the payment making us feel as if he thought we would get up and leave without payment. The experience was so dreadful it almost ruined any positive about the night - sunset was marvellous. This is a place that could be excellent but it won't be until they lift their game in terms of service and...
Read moreReserved beanie area which came with a minimum spending of rm150. However was asked to moved to the shady part of the restaurant which is so hot and I don’t think sitting inside has a minimum spending due to cloudy weather but it didn’t rain and yet we can’t move back to the beanie area which we had paid rm184 for the foods which aligned with the minimum spending.Felt so unsatisfied and disappointed. Might as well just walk in so I don’t have to spend so much to be seated at a hot place. Was told it was a procedure to moved into the shady area if it’s a bad weather but why didn’t tell us the possibility of rain when we were ordering but only asked us to move once the foods just reached. ( felt slightly cheated) Attached photo was the moment we just arrived which shows it’s cloudy.if they would have known that it’s gonna be a bad weather as per the procedure then let us know then :) or at least after an hour since there is no rain , can try to ask us whether want to move bck to the beanie area or not .
UPDATE: They reached out to me at WhatsApp. They stated that “ there were no mention of a beanie area reservation” NVM I have attached the photo of the reservation confirmation and WhatsApp conversation and of course I know it’s total spending amount of rm150 and not a booking fee. ( who doesn’t know how much they paid ?) it’s the purpose which were...
