I came to know about this restaurant after repeatedly stopping in front of the traffic light right outside this restaurant. It's located along the street, you won't miss the restaurant coz it's really brightly lit up. To be honest, I am attracted to this place after seeing all the photos from Google map, the food presentation was really good. We have tried the thai street noodles (spicy and sour rice noodles), basil minced pork rice, Balinese turmeric chicken rice and a tomyum noodles. Out of dishes I tried, I love the basil minced pork rice. Highly recommended. The basil leaves and chilly were sort of 'fried' under high heat and they release very nice aroma. The whole dish is too oily to my liking. But for the taste and juicy minced pork, this gets my 4.6/5 rating. The thai street noodles is basically like spicy lemon koay teow soup. Nothing special. The tomyum is a bit towards the sweet tasting one.. I felt that it wasn't sour enough. I have to comment a little on the Balinese turmeric chicken. I get a chicken drumstick and thigh (L shape) which is good. The marination was inadequate, it didn't even reach the meat.. all the taste was very superficial, and the meat was tasteless. The meat is not juicy but it wasnt dry.. the picture of this dish does look very good on the menu. Still got room for improvement for this dish. The ambiance is nice, indoor has AC, for outdoor they have a portable air cooler. They are quite short staffed, do expect a bit of wait for the food to arrive. Usually 15-30mins for peak hours. I think there is only one cook in the kitchen. Parking is limited, most people park right in front or in front of other shops which are not operating at that time. For the pad kra pao, I will revisit.

Locating a good Thai food in Penang can be challenging according to my experiences. Somehow the local Thai fares just aren't as good or intensely flavored as the original ones in Thailand. Nonetheless, I came across this shop and wanted to try their Thai food out after seeing the good reviews online. First thing I noticed was the lack/ absence of parking spaces, so some efforts will surely be needed to get one here. Upon entering the premises, I walked to their indoor seating area and while it wasn't anything spacious or large, it was able to accommodate several tables and in addition, I also saw that they offer private dining room. Browsing the menu, I decided to order their highly recommended pandan grilled chicken and I also got their regular tomyam mama mee as well as their pork leg rice. The tomyam mama mee was okay tasting with flavors that were somewhat true and familiar with the ones I had in Thailand. The pandan chicken was aromatic and I liked the nicely grilled crispy bits on the exterior. The chicken thigh and drumstick was fleshy and not too dry. However, the aroma and marination did not permeate into the meat and it was bit bland tasting sadly. No comments on the pork leg rice as I did not get to sample it. Aside from the food, the selection of table wares was beautiful looking with vibrant colours. On top of that, I thought the presentation of food here was well curated too. Both points don't improve the taste but surely helped in making the food photos look delicious.

Slow There were only 3 tables with customers where they had served. We waited for 15mins But nobody served us. We ask them to take orders but they asked us to wait but they serve another group who came in later than us. This happen a few times. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 After taking the order, we waited for 30mins for our first dish and another 30mins for the second dish 20mins wait for order 60mins wait for food. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 If you are hungry, don't come here. That is not the fun part. The fun part began on their food and drinks. Food Thai coffee: (-100/10) Nothing special. Wait. Ohya. It is especially expensive. With the cost of Rm7.90, you will get rm2.20 normal coffee where you can get in any Penang kopitiam. Definitely not worth it. Thai basil pork rice (-1000/10) Hmmm 🤔 It should be egg spicy rice instead. Where is my mince pork........ The portion is pity. It is so damn small. It is definitely overprice. The egg yolk is overcooked. It is a hard solid egg yolk. Rm18.90 and you will get egg, rice and spicy source. Hardly notice minced pork. The worst Thai basil minced pork rice I ever had. Signature nasi Ayan pandan honey (8/10) This one nice. The chicken is crispy and aromatic. The rice is normal.
