A Culinary Masterpiece: The Best Omakase in Penang
I recently had the privilege of dining at what I can confidently say is the best omakase experience in Penang. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I knew I was in for something special. The ambiance was intimate and elegant, perfectly setting the stage for what was to come.
The chef was a true artist, carefully curating each course with precision, using only the freshest ingredientsâmany of which were flown in directly from Japan. Every dish was a delightful journey, from melt-in-your-mouth sashimi to the perfectly balanced nigiri, each piece was crafted with an attention to detail thatâs hard to find.
One of the standout dishes was the toro (fatty tuna), which was the freshest Iâve ever tasted. The chef's use of seasonal ingredients elevated each course, making it clear that this wasnât just dinnerâit was an experience. The pacing of the meal was perfect, allowing me to savor each bite without feeling rushed. The delicate flavor pairings, the perfect seasoning, and the balance of textures left me in awe.
The service was exceptional too. The chef engaged with us throughout the meal, explaining the origin and preparation of each dish, which added an extra layer of appreciation.
Itâs safe to say that this omakase was worth every penny, and I left the restaurant with no regrets. If youâre in Penang and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this is the place to go. Itâs a must-visit for sushi lovers and those seeking the pinnacle of Japanese cuisine in the city.
Rating: 10/10 No hesitation, no second thoughtsâjust pure...
Read moreI had the best omakase in Penang here! The food taste is incredible and they really use high quality ingredients for their dishes. I remembered being disappointed with the cheap ingredients used by Kyuu (another omakase restaurant). I actually do crave going back there again. Itâs interesting that no sushi is served but the last claypot rice dish is unlimited, you can have as much refill as you wish and thatâs a good idea because definitely no customer will go hungry when they leave.
My friend who travels a lot said that the best omakase was had in Japan, second best in Taiwan and this is the 3rd đ.
The servers are very attentive to all diners such as giving a box for ladies bag, always there to refill drinks without being asked, help / show the way to toilet and quick to clean away dishes. They are also very prompt to reply to Whatapp enquiries. The 2 young partners chef clearly has passion for their food.
The bathroom is very nice and clean like a 5 star hotel. The only complain is that they can only serve limited diners sitting in front of the open kitchen and there is not much privacy for conversations being cramped...

Chef Wayne, whom we know from his days in Singapore and explored his own new venture in Penang showcasing Kappo-style dishes with his signature in a beautiful location on Jalan Pintal Tali, George Town; now in its second month of opening.
