Authentic Nasi Lemak Across from Pragin Mall

If you’re a fan of Nasi Lemak, this hidden gem right across from Pragin Mall is a must-visit! While the menu may not have many options, each dish is crafted with care and packed with flavors that truly stand out.

šŸ› My Top Picks:

1ļøāƒ£ Crispy Fried Chicken Nasi Lemak The star of the show! The fried chicken is incredibly crispy, juicy, and freshly prepared. Every bite was perfection—easily my number one choice.

2ļøāƒ£ Asam Prawns Nasi Lemak Tangy, aromatic, and perfectly balanced with just the right hint of spice. This dish was a delightful twist on the classic.

3ļøāƒ£ Nyonya-Style Curry Lamb Tender, flavorful, and slightly spicy. The lamb pairs beautifully with the rich curry, and it’s hard to resist going for seconds.

🌟 Bonus Snacks:

They also serve Malaysian-style fries with a unique house-made dipping sauce—crispy and addictive!

šŸ  Ambience & Location:

• The place is super clean and cozy, perfect for a casual meal. • I loved the little self-service condiment station—don’t skip their signature sambal sauce! • Located just opposite Pragin Mall with plenty of parking nearby, making it super convenient.

If you’re in the area, give it a try and let me know what you think. It’s an affordable and flavorful spot...

A Symphony of Flavors and one of the best nasi lemak I ever had! This dish is culinary artistry at its finest—creamy, coconut-infused rice exuding a delicate pandan aroma, paired with impeccably crisp fried chicken marinated in a bold blend of turmeric, lemongrass, and chili. The star, however, is the curry mutton: fall-off-the-bone tender meat simmered in a velvety, complex gravy layered with toasted spices, coconut milk, and a whisper of smokiness. A surprising triumph? The spiced French fries—golden shoestring cuts are dusted with tangy chili-lime seasoning and fried curry leaves, offering addictive crunch and zesty heat that complements the richer mains.

Each component sings in harmony: the cooling cucumber slices, nutty anchovy-peanut sambal, the boiled egg balance the fiery elements. Portions are lavish yet thoughtfully plated, with vibrant banana-leaf accents evoking street-food charm. Service is warm and attentive, enhancing the cozy, bustling ambiance. From first bite to last, this meal is a love letter to Malaysian comfort cuisine—bold, unapologetic, and utterly unforgettable. A must-visit for epicureans craving soulful...

This nasi lemak eatery really deserves to be better known!!! Granted, it opened less than a year ago, but the food quality and taste are at a gourmet level šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹. Firstly, the nasi lemak itself (the heart & soul of this iconic Malaysian dish) is cooked to PERFECTION. So much so it can be eaten on its own, with just a drizzle of curry or a dollop of spicy sambal šŸ¤£šŸ˜†. But hold your horses, as the accompanying proteins (mutton, fried chicken, anchovies) are mouthwateringly yummy!!! The star entree is without doubt, the Mutton Curry Nasi Lemak set (tender cubes of mutton that almost melt in your mouth, cooked in a rich and fragrant coconut curry)!!! In runner up position are the Fried Chicken Nasi Lemak set (with crispy and tender chicken drumstick & thigh - a generous portion!!!), as well as the Fried Beehoon with Assam (Tamarind) Prawns (for those preferring a lighter meal). The in-house recipes are probably heirloom, derived from traditional Malay nasi lemak cooking techniques that go back decades, and were perfected and fine-tuned over time. Highly recommended place to try, for fans of nasi lemak prepared with gastronomic flair....

Spice & Spicy lives up to its name with a range of sambal spiciness levels from 0 to 5, which is a nice touch for sambal lovers. The restaurant is well-known for its nasi lemak, and there’s a decent variety of ingredients to choose from—though for chicken, only drumsticks are available. For those who don’t prefer drumsticks, there are other options to mix and match. During my visit, I tried the bee hoon, which unfortunately didn’t meet expectations—it was bland, dry, and clumped together. The assam prawns were soggy and didn’t taste very fresh. Curry chicken and curry seafood were just average. Thankfully, their sambal (which is free to refill) and fresh veggie appetizers helped save the meal. Without those, I would’ve been quite disappointed, especially considering the positive reviews I had read before visiting. Paid parking is conveniently located right next to the shop. Prices are reasonable, making it a decent spot for a quick bite. However, I wouldn’t compare it to the well-loved nasi lemak spots in Penang—it’s more for casual dining than a foodie destination.
