It was a really dissapointed experience. I'm a regular at Bay Avenue branch. Was nearby therefore thought to give this branch a try...
With the over staffing, 4 staff around cashier n another 2 in kitchen. Took over 20mins to prep the food when there's only 2 order slips. Mine's the 3rd.
Yet, most dissapointing fact is when the food is served cold after a long wait. Especially when I ordered fish n chips sandwich. Making it to be very fishy which I never happened no matter I order from grab or dine in at Bay Avenue branch. Therefore, went over to the staff & asked if it's possible to heat the food. Chinese female staff has good attitude.
Shortly, another spicy chicken sandwich was served, again cold. I brought to the male staff & politely asked if its possible to heat it up. He showed me a shocking expression, asked which part of it is cold. I mentioned the chicken is very cold.
He brought back to the kitchen & asked his colleague is this even cold? Most of the crew are unserious about food, they were laughing n gossiping about their own topics even there's orders, neglecting their job.
Soon both sandwiches are back on table with 'warm' condition. I understand that fish n chips sandwish can't be hot because there is egg mayo in it. However the fillet was really cold, causing it to be really fishy. There's no excuses for spicy chicken sandwich to be cold as there's no egg mayo which stored in fridge.
This is the worst experience among all the cafés I've visited in Penang. 😳
A grab rider who I believe the order came in before mine, was waiting for the delivery since I ordered till i finish, the order is not completed. Delivery abang is still sitting there waiting.
I highly don't recommend visiting this place. If you love their sandwich & would love to visit in person do visit Bay Avenua branch instead of paying at Pangkor & dissapoint yourself. Well if you don't mind cafe crew being ignorant & food being served cold then go ahead.
Above is just sincere comment from a person who loves food especially to be...
Read moreThis café is a great spot for enjoying a sandwich and a cup of coffee in a welcoming environment. The setting is pleasant, and they offer a one-time free coffee refill, which is a nice touch. Additionally, if you're a first-time member, you get a free cup of long black or latte, adding more value to the experience.
The coffee here is served in generous portions, which aligns well with the price point, and the food portions are also reasonable. The café has a pleasant atmosphere, making it a comfortable place to relax or meet with friends. However, the café's name isn't very visible, as it's tucked away beside a designer's office, making it easy to miss.
Despite the café's charm, excellent coffee, and good food, there was a disappointing incident during our visit. The staff felt that we were cheating the free coffee policy because we separated our bills. Our group of four purchased five coffees, but since we didn't arrive at the same time, we paid on separate bills. One staff member accused us of trying to get extra refills, causing discomfort and disappointment. This unexpected check and suspicion marred an otherwise enjoyable experience. It’s important for the café to ensure their staff treats customers with respect and avoids making them feel uncomfortable.
Despite this issue, the café's food, coffee, and atmosphere are still appealing, and we hope this incident was an isolated one. If the staff can be more courteous and avoid assumptions about customers' intentions, it would greatly improve the...
Read moreSecreted hideaway kinda vibe but non stop grab food pickup. Must be super popular online given its isolated location. Parking is plentiful but entrance can be difficult to located for first timer given its lack of proper signage. Simple interiors, almost spartan, very clean, not particularly comfortable but cozy enough for a lunch getaway. Acoustics can be a strain on the ears for those wanting some audio respite. Recommended the Friday special which was an Egg Truffle Sandwich and added one more for good measure as I was feeling peckish. So ordered the Smoked Salmon with Ikura plus a long black. Food did not arrived together but one by one over a 15 minute time frame. I wonder why. Pretty perfect Japanese style sandwiches - fresh white bread, fresh fillings, neatly assembled and well seasoned. Truffles did not overwhelm as they sometimes do. Well balanced. Egg salad was creamy and not too rich. Accompanying shredded cabbage was wonderful and necessary. When Salmon sandwich arrived (last), the server apologised and returned RM4 because they ran out of ikura. Quite decent of them. Sandwich was well made with just enough salmon, some egg salad (again), sliced cucumbers and did not try overly hard. Sometimes keeping it straight forward is best. This eatery comes positively...
