Hong La Jiao Steamboat 紅辣椒火鍋 — Restaurant in George Town

A restaurant doesn't have to be perfect at everything. It just needs to be super good at something, and that something makes you think about it, and you will come back again just for it.

That special dish that made our group kept coming back craving for it, to our surprise, was no longer being served by the restaurant - the dry hotpot beef 干锅牛肉.

We missed the dry beef pot's sichuan mala spiciness and saltiness, the aroma, and the strong taste. It's really a dry pot, and we usually put additional luncheon meats and french fries and even glass noodles (冬粉) on it. It have us sense of satisfaction after a busy work day.

Please consider to bring back the drypot beef so we can come back again! The lamb dry pot is ok but we like the beef brisket one better. Both cooking methods...

As a Sichuanese travelling overseas, what I miss most is Hotpot. However this restaurant is disappointing for both its service and dishes. We ordered beer twice and as for the second time, I asked for a colder one because the first one served was not cold enough. The Waitress, however, told us the cold ones were sold out! How hillarious! BTW, she doesnt smile at all.（Remember we are charged 10% as the service fee, if you dont like this job, quit it!）Another waitress served us the second order and they DID have cold beer. As for fishes, the portion was unbelievably small to our standard. The worst part was that they serve unfresh duck intestines!! No duck intestines in Sichuan are frozen like that!! Gross!! Now I am having a terrible diarrhea due that your NOT...

Bad serivce , totally under staff. Went there saturday night 8pm. Order slices pork and other dishes, only been told no more slices pork after we almost done with our meals, waiter should have told us earlier so that we can order other meat.

Ask to refill the sources and the waiter reply she not free.

Basically have to selve service all the time, wave the order list until hand sour but still no ppl serve, at the end have to go to counter to self order.

Not worth the money for such service. All main dishes are run out, slices pork, slices beef and slices lamb. Alathe end eat vegetables only.

Saw other tables also self service, add rice, water, plates,...
