Another random food discovery, breakfast in the impressive ambiance of Thali-NR Sweets Café opened up with Upma/Semolina/Rave savory thick porridge for my other half half whereas I opted for Paper Ghee Tosai. Both were not a letdown. Home style food which tickled our tastebuds, big bold Indian quintessential aroma and tastes, Upma paired alongside sambar and two types of chutney, similarly the same pairing for the thin crispy tosai. Oher half-half wouldn’t stop nodding his head for affirming that upma made his tummy happy, I too must mention tosai was worthy. There's also something magical about coffee and tea in most such Indian eateries. Just wondering what's the guarded secret so that I can make at home. Thali-NR Sweet Cafe notably can also be your choice for packing back or prior ordering their colorful and vibrant...

Honestly the most boring meal I've had in Penang for many months, possibly ever. I last came to this restaurant a year or two ago and didn't like it much but I decided to give it another chance. I had the palak paneer and it's a mystery to me how they could make an Indian dish without any flavour. Maybe that's why it's so popular with tourists when the vast majority of restaurants in Little India are full of flavour and no tourists.

What a waste of a meal. 2 stars is being generous. 🤦‍♂️

Update: 😂😂 look at their reply: "Thank you Michelin star chef" - Wow! How not to react to customers. Apart from being rude, whoever wrote the reply is completely missing the point of reviews. You didn't pay me to cook for you. Downgraded to 1 star for being...

This only good restaurant for indian who prefer veg food, its located in the heart of little india, around this restaurant you'll find more indian restaurant but most of restaurant serve veg and non veg both. And price of food at this restaurant is also cheap (even I found cheaper then india). Quality of food are also up to the mark and quantity of food in set lunch are more then enough for a person. There are lot of reasons to choose this restaurant if you are in Penang in respect to quality, cleanness and also price. We 5 people had lunch there our total bill was only 50 ringgit. Negetive side of this restaurant in the non availability of variety of food, however I will recommend to have your lunch, dinner and breakfast at there if you...

Had breakfast here around 10ish with total customers in the shop were 4 people and all their staffs are busy by doing chit chatting with other people and have to wait till they finish talking, Then only want to come and do their job. I think that will gives you the idea of customer services they provide. Well in regards of food, oh lord please help me: 1) Thosai were tasteless and hard 2) Poori side dish ie: potato were tasteless and not cooked properly 3) tea were meh. 4) the sweets were in okay category. Can't distinguished much the difference between the sweets. All taste same even though stated as different flavours. Overall: Can try this shop if there is no other shop is available and you were in dying state to eat.

Been there mutiple times during my stay in penang and didn't get disappointed. First time, I thought the curry portion was slightly small from what I've been used to from other places. However, the flavor was spot on and for the price of RM8, you can't really complain. I think you get a lot for the buck, especially considering that it's right in the middle of Georgetown. The thali plate is really amazing for RM10-RM14. I didn't have any problem with waiter aittude as described by some other guests. If you walk in with a big smile and spread positivity, the waiters will be friendly too. If you have this typical westerners grumpy face look, guess what you will get back? It's a general rule for life my friends...
