This was considered as one of my favourite place to eat with my family but what happened last night (15/02/2025) really made me feel UNSATISFIED! Let me list down & please TAKE NOTE & DO SOMETHING.

(1) My wife ordered Mutton Briyani Claypot but the waiter who taking our order said don’t have, so we’re okay to hear that cause we really thought the food really finished (out of stock) but what happened next really change my mood, whenever other new customer came & ordered the same Mutton Briyani Claypot, suddenly became available for them. Why must lied?

(2) I ordered 2 Chicken Briyani Claypot but when came, the food was cold. The rice was cold & the chicken not juicy. I’m not sure what happened at the kitchen, this was really bad situation for my family. The food was paid not free. Why served like this?

(3) I ordered Chicken Milani Briyani Claypot but really took a very long time but another new customers came, no issue..can get the same Chicken Milani Briyani Claypot faster & more earlier than me eventhough they ordered late. I was sitting & waiting like dumb watching this scenario. Then when i call the waiter, the waiter acting like innocent people & said to me “Why don’t you remind me in malay language? This was VERY BAD SERVICE! I said it again VERY BAD! and when they served me the food, the same thing happened. THE FOOD WAS COLD! but you guys very lucky because i don’t show my anger last night.

(4) The last part was i wanna bring back (take away) the leftover & when i take it to the one of the waiter, the waiter pretending can’t see me eventhough i came by myself take the claypot bowl to him. YOU THINK I’M HOLLOW MAN OR WHAT? THIS ISN’T FUNNY! Luckily came the other good waiter take it & wrap it for me.

Last word from me, TO MANAGER/SUPERVISOR OR LEADER, PLEASE DO SOMETHING. IF THE FOREIGNER WORKER CAN’T WORK THERE, PLEASE REMOVE THEM. I HATE THE SERVICES LAST NIGHT & I HATE THE NO MANNER WORKERS.

“The food & services will became really great if handled by a good people/worker.” Please take...

Kapitan in Penang offers an experience that is nothing short of culinary nirvana. If there’s one dish that you simply cannot miss, it’s the tandoori chicken with garlic naan. Let’s break down why this might just be the best meal you’ll have in Penang—or anywhere else.

The tandoori chicken is a masterpiece of flavor. Each bite is a smoky, tender celebration of spices perfectly balanced to deliver a punch without overwhelming the senses. The vibrant red exterior, charred to perfection, gives way to juicy, succulent meat that practically melts in your mouth. It’s a feast for the eyes and the palate alike.

Pairing this culinary gem with the garlic naan takes the dish to another level. The naan is warm, pillowy, and infused with just the right amount of garlic to complement the richness of the chicken. Together, they create a harmonious symphony of flavors that you’ll want to savor slowly. But don’t worry about holding back—ordering more naan here, unlike Jeremy from Peep Show, is not an act of madness. In fact, it’s highly encouraged, because this naan deserves its own spotlight.

Adding to the charm is Kapitan’s use of modern technology. Watching your mango lassi—another must-try—delivered by a futuristic robot is a delightful touch that blends traditional flavors with a touch of the unexpected. The lassi itself is the perfect counterpoint to the spice of the tandoori, cooling and refreshing with every sip.

Kapitan not only excels in delivering unforgettable food but also manages to provide a fun, quirky dining experience. It’s a place where even the most over-the-top naan order feels entirely justified. Come hungry, and...

We got sat quickly, and the server was patient with us to look over the menu. He did check in, but got frustrated when we asked for one more minute. We finally ordered, and the food came fairly fast. The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend just based on this. Our server was still a little dismissive of us, however another server saw me eye roti tissu that he brought out. He put on a huge smile, came over to chat with us, ask if we wanted to try some, explained what it was, etc. Based on my experience with this server, I would have no hesitations recommending this place. However, based on the server we got I was a little disappointed. At the end we asked if we paid him and he said yes. Then he motioned as if we were to follow him so we started to get up. Then he put up his hand to stop us, so we sat down and waited again. He came back with the bill, and then we tried to provide him payment. He got frustrated, told us no, and we were able to figure out we had to go to the counter to pay. Overall, I would recommend this place solely based on the delicious, authentic food. The service may be hit or miss, but hopefully you have a...

Restoran Kapitan on Chulia Street is a must-visit for those who appreciate authentic Indian subcontinental flavors. We tried both the chicken and beef biryani, and they were excellent. The use of spices was impressive, bringing out flavors that are rarely found in Malaysian restaurants but are loved by those familiar with Indian cuisine. The chicken biryani had tender pieces of chicken and perfectly spiced rice, while the beef biryani was rich and flavorful. We also ordered the mango lassi, which was refreshing and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness, and the teh tarik, which was well-prepared with a balanced mix of tea and milk. The beef chili was interesting with a slightly sweet taste, adding a unique twist to the dish. However, the restaurant was quite busy when we visited, and the waiters were too occupied to take our order promptly. We also heard great things about the lamb biryani, but unfortunately, it was unavailable at the time. Despite these minor issues, the overall dining experience was satisfying. Restoran Kapitan offers a variety of dishes with bold and authentic flavors, making it a worthwhile spot in Penang.
