As a tourist from Indonesia visiting Penang for a medical checkup who stayed in Ascott hotel, I have to say I have such great experience coming here as my last cafe in Penang before going back to the airport. Food was great, they give out healthy ingredients and are creative with their meals even though the menu wasn't detailed and the arrangements are bad (almost everything is made out of sourdough which is INTERESTING and never seen such thing in my hometown!). I do have to point out that the place is a bit too small for a great business like this because it gets really crowded. But theres one thing I love the most about this cafe, I came from Indonesia where services are our main priority and coming to Malaysia i have never get good services and smiles which pretty ticked me off. This cafe is full of workers who smiles and do things very gently towards customers. I encountered two good workers: One tall male with long black hair cashier who greets out customers and smile, also gently hands out change and asked for receipt, its been long to encounter such gentle worker in Malaysia. And one girl who SURPRISINGLY is from the same home country as me and starts talking to me which lightens up my mood because I was talking to my sibling in Indonesian and she laughed together with me. Before I left this cafe, I went to ask her what is the great time to go to the airport and she gave me good advices whats the busy time and all that! Loved both of their attitude! I'll be sure to visit Yin's GurneyWalk again to meet this two and their great healthy good! I'll recommend my communities about this restaurant when they visit Penang, should do another branch in Indonesia...
Read moreI recently ordered the Chicken Luncheon Sandwich from a restaurant and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the quality of the dish. The chicken in the sandwich was clearly overcooked and its edges were hard. It felt like the chicken had been left on the grill for too long, resulting in a dry and almost rubbery texture. This was quite a letdown, as I had expected tender and juicy chicken but instead it was overcooked and had hard edges, which made it quite unappetizing to eat. The texture was tough and dry, indicating that it had been cooked for too long. This was a major letdown as I was expecting succulent and tender chicken in my sandwich.
Furthermore, the pricing of the sandwich at RM23 per plate was quite expensive in my opinion. Considering the unsatisfactory quality of the chicken, it felt like I was paying too much for a subpar meal. I would have expected better value for my money.
To accompany my meal, I also ordered a cappuccino. However, even this beverage didn't impress me much. It was just average, lacking the rich and creamy flavor that I usually look for in a good cappuccino. It was neither outstanding nor memorable.
Overall, I must say that my experience with the Chicken Luncheon Sandwich was quite disappointing. The overcooked chicken with hard edges and the steep price of RM23 made it seem like an overrated choice. Additionally, the average quality of the cappuccino failed to elevate the meal. I would not recommend this dish or the accompanying beverage, as there are likely better options available elsewhere. Sad to say, in the flower jar on the table, a dead fly was floating in the water. The last...
Read moreI as a regular customer, am feeling really disappointed on their recent services. The food tastes not that good compared to previous days, the service.. previous workers provided great service, howeevr recently, I went here again and was treated horribly by a rude waiter. They started using apps to take order recently, which I didn't know. The minute I walked into the cafe, the rude waiter just passed me the qr code while mumbling some words which I couldn't even hear? We sat down to order but I couldn't find a dish I wanted in the online menu so I thought that they forgot to put the dish in the menu(which most cafe do)then I went to the counter just to order physically, the specific rude waiter asked me himself to cut the queue to the front as he thought i wanted to make payment. I went in front and told him I wanted to take an order AND THEN he just asked me to go to the back of the queue thinking I didn't know how to order online without even listening to my explanation ONCE and treated the other foreign customers nicely and smiling? WHEN IT IS MY TURN I TOLD HIM THE SITUATION and he just made a face and took my order RUDELY while telling me 'didnt I tell you to order online?' what kind of service is this? Worst. After taking my order, I went back and sat down and took out few documents put them on the table to read. THAT SPECIFIC oddly rude waiter came up and smacked the cutlery box right on my documents.... He successfully ruined my morning with his rude horrible attitude. Please change or at least train your workers for every customer's better...
