My family and I planned to have dinner near here. It happened to be dinner time. We saw a queue outside. A lady staff was handle with other customers in the queue. A male staff from the restaurant came out and took the initiative to introduce their menu and asked us if we wanted to eat. I was surprised that in such a busy time, they would take the initiative to introduce it, even though it didn't look like we really wanted to dine here. In the end, we decided to wait to be seated. Because of his sincerity, when we were seated, he still patiently introduced it and asked about our need and satisfied us. we felt very satisfied with this dinner. The quality of the food is second. The important thing is that it made me see how lucky a restaurant is to have such an outstanding group of staff. This man is the supervisor C.S. When we were dining, we also found that his guidance work in the restaurant was really great, so that other customers could get the same care and a good dining experience, and would not ignore other customers because of being busy. I will definitely come...
Read moreVery disappointed with the Fish Porridge ordered, the broth was bland & tasteless, like drinking brine (salt water). Just like previous comment by KB, the fish was so terribly pathetic, very thinly sliced & so few & small in size, only 5 miserable pieces. On the whole, it’s like drinking a huge bowl of brine with rice. I can cook much much better than this. Seriously lousy. I wld boil for 2 hrs fish bones wt pork bone & turnip, soy beans & anchovies for the broth. And garnish with fried shallot, fried garlic, spring onions, cilantro, & seaweed, with garlic oil. IKAR is a total disappointment. I do hope the owner or bosx reads this so that actions can be taken on the kitchen staff or chef for bringing down the reputation & branding. This is utterly not fair to the customer & to the boss. Big bowl, chock-full of rice but minimal fish. Not value for money & worst of...
Read moreSearched for soup options around this area and came across this fish soup restaurant
Ordered the signature traditional soup with fresh Tioman fish and added on prawn paste with a serving of dry beehoon. The soup was really flavourful and the fish was really fresh! The prawn paste can be smaller though cos it was really huge.
We also added a portion of sweet potato balls which was a signature and were surprised with actual sweet potato filling within it! We also ordered a portion of fried fish cake but that was alright.
Would totally come back again for the soup and possible try other...
