Place: NON-HALAL, air-conditioned restaurant with ample wooden seats. The place is comfortable and isn't stuffy. At a glance the food here is cheap and reasonable. There are a variety of food, mainly pork based rice/noodles, curry noodles and duck rice.
Service: self write order, but waiters are mostly foreigners who dont talk much, however they understand the basics.
Food: 2 Mix Roasted meat noodles (RM13.50): the noodles was springy and just like how its meant to be. Packed with flavour and the Roasted pork was a delight in my mouth. Verdict: certainly one of the better wanton noodles up there with the big guys.
Fried shrimp dumpling 7 pieces (RM12.90): fried to dry cripsy goodness and coupled with the mayonnaise, makes this dish one to have. The down side is that it can be a little oily. Verdict: improve on the oily part and it'll be a dish to behold!!
3 mix Roasted meat rice (RM14.90): the rice was cooked perfectly, coupled with the mixed 3 different types of meat. Wow. Its good. The chicken was moist and succulent, taste profile was excellent. Verdict: Chicken rice lovers beware!! We've got a killer here.
Char siew wanton soup (RM12.50): Wonderful!! Loved the Roasted pork. Verdict:...
Read moreThis is a lovely place selling local delights, the meat plates should be the one you aim for as the quality is high for the affordable asking price compared to competitors.
I had the white chicken which is juicy and smooth mixed with roast pork with just enough fats and a crispy skin and char siew with has a charcoal finish that you can taste.
Ordered another plate of dumpling and mince pork noodles which was nicely done with qq noodles (expect this to vary from visit to visit) and well seasoned and tasty dumplings.
Finished the meal with a soup, though there was nothing super special about it, love that it was filled with ingredients and that the soup tasted pretty decent.
If you are looking for a place to fill up with something that is value for money and also tasty, this should be the go to within the area where there are so many choices. Parking is also ample though you might need to walk a bit further out cos it is a popular spot with the locals.
Do note, the other miscellaneous 'peng' they sell at the doorstep is so so and is relatively expensive. The egg tarts for example was underwhelming even in the Portuguese form surprisingly. Also, they do not accept...
Read moreWe came here twice, once for lunch and dinner. We like the prompt service, although the waiter didn’t understand us but he tried his best and got his colleague to help. Staff are very helpful. We got the medium platter twice, once with 4 items, the other with 3 items but char siew portion seems same. The kind of meat isn’t equally portioned. Roasted meat char siew was good, roast pork average but crispy, herbal duck good, Hainanese chicken very good. The Lala soup is pleasantly good, haven’t had such a soup in a while. Furong omelette was average. We came here a second time just to try the fresh shrimp wanton soup. It was quite disappointing, given the price. I didn’t taste the shrimp and meat filling texture was not good too. Kaya toasts are crispy, while half boiled eggs are perfect. Duck egg noodles are nice. My children loves the old school biscuits especially the square ones with strawberry filling. The shop front didn’t look like the one in google, so we couldn’t find the address in eco-botanic the second time when we...
