Visited on a weekend morning for breakfast and the place was rather crowded and noisy but we managed to get a table. Took a while to look through the menu, quite rare to have a physical (and tattered) menu nowadays and the staff coming to the table to take orders as we are pretty used to online ordering of food. Wanted to try the buttermilk waffle but unfortunately was unavailable. So had drinks and ordered the egg mayo croissant and the Korean fried Chicken burger and also ordered the signature Bubble Waffle for dessert . The drinks came first and we enjoyed the drinks a lot. Well executed and totally no complaints. I was surprised by the yuzu and matcha combination, really interesting and refreshing. Came the egg mayo croissant. The croissant was crispy but I didn't really like the egg mayo, there was mayo but it tasted bland. Also found it quite unusual and weird for the size of the egg to be cut so thick. Felt that overall didn't go well together. Then came the fried chicken burger. Everything was okay except for the sauce on the chicken I didn't like the sauce to be mixed with mayo. Doesn't mean it's not nice but the taste is really based on individual's preference. Chicken was fried very well and was crispy but the sauce was just off. Finally had the bubble waffle. Asked for it to be served after food and was the last to come. Also felt weird thought it would made to order, but then the waffle didn't taste hot or cold, just like it has been left in the room for a while. The bubbles also were not crispy. The interior was just nothing but cream and banana so having it was quite filling. Everything was average and not exactly to my personal liking but might be find for other people's tastebuds. Price wise was quite reasonable for 3 items and 2 drinks. Definitely have to commend on the service of the staff, pretty friendly...
Read morePretty good cafe experience in jb that’s close to Legoland. It’s a bit out of the way if you’re coming from woodlands side but it’s near from Tuas side.
You need to drive or grab there. Nothing much around the area (not like a big shopping mall) except for other eateries, pet store, kindergarten that services nearby residential areas.
The design decor is industrial clean cut minimalist look also with 2 unisex toilets which will be clean if customers keep it clean. They’ve many seats available for groups. On a weekday lunch time it was pretty crowded also. The staff was kind, friendly and helped to arrange a table to accommodate our big group with kids. They also helped with getting cutlery, crockery etc. they were also patient with our big group and kids.
the coffee is really good. My friend who is a coffee connoisseur remarked its top quality coffee made well. It’s very smooth.
The pastas were good too. Breakfast sets were also tasty. I liked the salmon on croissant. The grilled chicken leg with couscous was also a hit with our group. The desserts were also nice. I like the basque cheesecake with its cool creamy interior, it’s like a custard. The tiramisu was also delicious. The egglet strawberry waffle was nice but I felt the cream tastes artificial. Maybe can change the cream.
Won’t mind going back again if I’m in the area but won’t be driving especially there to dine if I’m faraway...
Read moreCame on a Thurs during lunch, cafe wasn’t crowded. There were 2 staff, but service was prompt.
Ordered the Latte, Mocha, Citrus Espresso, Pink Lady, OD Breakfast, Salmon Tartine, Salmon egg Benedict, Egg Mayo Croissant and truffle fries.
The salmon dishes are smoked salmon, with a choice of cook/ raw. For the Egg Benedict, the egg was a little too cooked so the yolks were not as runny/ jammy as expected. Hollandaise sauce was mild too. The vegetables had a nice citrusy sauce on it. We chose the cooked salmon for Salmon Tartine, which was honestly pretty good. The texture of the bread was really good too.
The Egg Mayo croissant was generous in egg Mayo filling, and the croissant was buttery with a good texture. Ordered the chicken ham OD breakfast, of which the mushroom and scrambled egg were amazing.
Truffle fries was a disappointment, extremely dry so we didn’t consume much of it.
Latte and Mocha are what you would expect of the taste and the Citrus espresso was a refreshing blend of espresso taste. Personally not quite a fan but I think this place does this drink better than most other places I’ve tried. The pink lady tasted like grapefruit in yakult, which was pretty interesting too.
The meal in general wasn’t impressive, but was...
