Oh! There are so many Japanese style bakeries out there, but this is what a real Japanese bakery bread tasted like?! Pan Kobo! A hidden gems bakery with love and Japanese perfection that is at Horizon Hill, near to Bukit Indah, & Legoland.
The Curry Pan/ bread, Croissant, Pizza bread, and the Ebi Bacon cheese are the must eat! Why?
Imagine this! If you are a croissant lover too like me, you know that most croissant out there has no layers and less butter smell, some are even flat or empty yet the price doesn't make sense. Well, the layering textured, the butter taste and the price here is worthy.
Have you ever eat this similar kind of curry bread but everything just sticked together that you can't differentiate what is what? Or perhaps some you can't even taste any meat at all? The curry pan is like no others! The texture surrounding it with clearly sensible when chewing it, the curry is fragrance with bit of spiciness chicken meat. Even my mum who never like this kind of bread fall in love with it.
For Bakery Pizza bread, over here is not soggy like other places. I can't truly explain why I like it, but it is delicious, you knew like when you were kids when you like to eat something without a reason, yeah that's how was. Yummy! Haha XD But keep in mind it is still a pizza bread, not a pizza yeah.
For Ebi Bacon Cheese are very chewy and yummy. It is hard that good for bites~ Like snacks and every bites you taste the flour and ingredient in it.
Well as you read, most of the bread I tried are delicious! Even the donuts are chewyyyy ^~^
If you want to experience enjoying delicious bread and happy family moment with your kids and love one. Come here~ Buy some breads!...
Read moreWe love their ciabattas, flutes and baguettes made with French flour. The place opens very early, and if you come late, say after lunchtime... most of the breads are gone and the selection is poor. So if you are looking for fresh loaves and breads, do go early! However I must say... the pastries are priced a bit on the high side, and not really worth it as compared to their breads. The filling is very scant - and this is not a one-off observation, I have been coming to this bakery for many years now. Not only has the price gone up (understandably so due to inflation), but the buns and pastries are really not great. The pizzas are oily and soggy. Quite sad. :( And some of their other savoury offerings are tough and chewy.
Edit: Visited again... and this time I really have no choice but to remove another star from my rating.... because this quality of bread I bought today was really not acceptable. Bought a "Cheese French" for RM7.90... thinking at that price it must be okay. Sorry it was not. It was a small plain white bread with a bit of cheese on the top. No filling... just tough, chewy, tasteless white bread. I went before 12pm and the bread is already not fresh??? For RM7.90. This is a joke. And what cheese lol no cheese just a sprinkle of melted cheese on the top. So...
Read moreSome bakeries make bread. But Pan Kobo—helmed by Tomo, a kind Korean baker married to a Malaysian—makes magic. ✨
Pan Kobo – oh woof, my Saturday ritual is set in stone: trot straight here for their sourdough fruit loaf. 🍇🍞 Forget Verona’s soft airy loaves that leave my tummy still grumbling—Pan Kobo’s sourdough is hearty, chewy, and fills me up just right.
Their rusks are a crunchy delight (way better than factory biscuits), and come festive seasons they shine with hot cross buns at Easter and Christmas cakes & chocolates that make tails wag across JB. 🎄🐾
But here’s one thing this loyal pup has to bark out—please, dear Pan Kobo, cut down the sugar in your cakes, especially the carrot cake. 🙏 A little less sweetness would mean I could enjoy my slice without dragging my hooman on a guilt trip.
If I could I bark it from the rooftop Pan Kobo is the best bakery in JB, paws down. Better than SDS, Lavender, Secret Recipe, Donna Bakehouse, Verona, Verbena , Manzanita—you name it.
So Pan Kobo, keep up the quality, mind the sugar, and you’ll stay the knockout champ of JB bakeries—a true Pan...
