Liked the overall colour and matched well with the brightness. Seem like the place not build n furnish completely. Food tasted great. The "noodle roll" thickness was thicker than most sim sum outlet we visited, nice! Sadly the tea got a little too much milk. Very good amount of staff on ground. Welcoming with good attitude n nice vibes. It was raining the staff prepared umbrella for incoming parked vehicle and went toward it once parked. Very nice!! ^_^ Here, i will raise my concern. The walkway to the rest room are not safe. Slippery... once there is mould or worse algae due to constantly wet. If a wheelchair person comes.. hope the management will put stripes of abrasive tape to improve grip while walking. 2nd, the main walkway in the restaurant are tight. I understand space is precious. Let me point out, a workstation that needs ur staff to bend down after OPEN A CABINET shouldn't be tight. Open shelves works better. When sauce spill, kids walk fast to toilet, staff hasten their paces.. Which actually already happened when i noticed ur workstation while walking toward my table, when time to go im stuck when the staff was getting something. As a safety person, i waited while yanking my son to hold his pace. Thats how tight ur walkway is. And there are customers just beside it. Just my 2cts. I still love the restaurant n the staff two thumbs up.

Came here for lunch around 11.30am. They are very busy and the inside aircon section was practically full when I arrived. They have an outdoor seating area as well, which is less crowded and with tables more spaced apart. Very pleasant on a cool day. They have many interesting menu items. The salted egg yolk shrimp ball is quite good, but I do question if the salted egg yolk is really salted egg yolk because the colour is so pale and it's also not very flavourful. The other menu "highlight" was the special giant simmer "sharks fin" dumpling... but it feels very gimmicky haha. Because my dumpling already burst inside the bowl.. So it was like a seafood and wine soup. But the taste of the soup is very good and they have real scallops and crab meat inside. Xiaolongbao was quite disappointing, it tasted bland and there was very very little soup inside. The bacon roll as well... quite expensive for only 2pcs (Rm8+) with no distinct bacon taste and also quite bland. They provide soy sauce and chili sauce at the table, but no small saucers and you need to pour it directly on your plate. I really like the environment... the location is very good, and the staff all also were very attentive, fast, and courteous. They have a lot of staff too, to cater to the big crowd. Overall I think it's OK, good job to them, but I still prefer my other dimsum haunts.

Guys. If you’re gonna open up a dim sum place in horizon hills, at least vet your front house staff la. Your food was great. Personally, would eat dim sum every day. Stoked that there’s a dim sum place right outside my house. But what got my blood boiling was that when we arrived we saw that there was not much seats left so we plopped at the first table we saw was vacant. It was really hot. (11-11.30 am hot sun) as you can see in the photo. After we ordered, I asked the nice waiter who was a lady if we can sit in a mother place that just became vacant because it was really hot and there was no sun shade where we sat. She went to ask another waiter who was a Chinese guy with glasses, and he had the audacity to say “we cannot simply simply change tables whenever people feel like it” in front of us where people can hear. So embarrassing and so so rude. My husband is a sweet and humble man. It was because of him that I did not just get up and leave after making a scene. I get that you’re some big shkt business man who might own many restaurants and don’t care what us small people feel, but these little things matter and I sincerely hope that you can better your people skills because I would hate to have to travel far for food that I love.

Pin Ming Xuan is a Cantonese dim sum restaurant in Johor Bahru, and its branch at Horizon Hill is conveniently located near Legoland, making it a great dining option for families and travelers. The dim sum here is impressive, especially the steamed dishes, which stand out for their freshness and precise execution—something that’s often lacking in many so-called dim sum establishments in Singapore and Malaysia. Compared to other chain dim sum restaurants in the area, Pin Ming Xuan offers a noticeably higher quality dining experience. The restaurant itself is modern and well-maintained, with a trendy and clean interior design that creates a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. For those who prefer dining in the open air, the restaurant also offers outdoor seating, adding a versatile option to suit different preferences. While the overall experience is enjoyable, one minor downside is the staff’s communication. Their Chinese can be a bit difficult to understand, as they are clearly not local, which may lead to slight confusion when placing orders. However, the attentive service and quality food more than make up for this small issue.

Interesting and popular dim sum place in the horizon hill area. Always a bit of a wait when you get here, but the queue moves rather fast. There's a seating/waiting area now compared to last time. You can look at the menu and order first while you wait for your table. Atmosphere is good and the place is nicely decorated. Comfortable indoor dining because it is air conditioned, which a lot of other dim sum places lack. Service is fast and you do not have to wait very long for your food to come. Most of the food seems pre-prepped already and not made to order, which is understandable since it's a dim sum place. However, the porridge that we ordered shouldn't be pre-prepped and yet was only lukewarm when it reached the table. Pricing is decent and not too expensive. We find that certain dishes seem to be a bit more bland than to our liking, but it's still overall better than average. Maybe it's more of a preference thing. All in all, a worthwhile visit if you're looking for a dim sum spot. We will return another time to try other dishes!
