Mixed feelings about this place. I’ll give a 3.5 stars and leaning towards 4. Importantly is the soup base as it gives a first impression of the place. The ginseng chicken soup is something to die for, flavourful and fragrant but could be msg after all lol.
In terms of price, it is cheaper than chigui and chigui’s food is getting from bad to worse so i would prefer to come here instead. In terms of service, definitely not like hdl but hdl is getting bad too, at least this will help us to scoop out the scrums from the soup. Sauce are also provided to self mix but there is no recommended recipe to follow but that’s totally fine.
There are recommended and to be avoided dish that you can take note of. Recommended items/dish the ginseng chicken soup base. I did not try the collagen but i probably would in the next round. shrimp slip is hdl standard lamb slice is thick and flavourful pig blood is fresh and flavourful
Dish to avoid fruit sweet corn. That name quite cheat actually. Is not sweet at all fish noodle. The fish meat not very fresh. white promphet. The meat is ok but they do not de bone the fish and they simply cut the whole fish into pieces which makes it not easy to eat Ti wang vege. The vege is practically inedible, stem is old. I request to change to another veg, they...
Read moreHonestly, services from waiters and waitresses was great. However, we were stunned when there were houseflies flying around our food. Also, it was quite disappointing when our century egg wanton has very minced prawn and we only realised it after taking a few bites. Both of us have prawn allergy and we accepted it that we were at fault too for not asking but the restaurant didn’t state the ingredients too. When we asked the lady (probably the owner since she’s not wearing staff attire), all she said was “yes there’s prawn, then how?”. Her response made the entire experience unfriendly since we asked politely but wasn’t treated the same.
The whole bill was expensive as well but we already expected it as it was ala carte hotpot. we ordered 3 meats, 1 wanton, 2 veg, 1 baby octopus, 1 baby sotong, 2 soups (for hotpot). Total cost RM 200+. Meat was tough, sotong not as fresh but baby octopus texture was good. The soup was pretty salty for ‘bone soup’ and would recommend going for 清油mala instead of butter mala (ours was butter mala and we didn’t really like it as the taste was very heavy with very strong buttery aftertaste. Hence, we think 清油 might be better (?)).
Overall, would recommend going for...

We chose a double soup base: 花胶鸡汤 and 牛油麻辣汤, and both were exceptional in their own way. The 花胶鸡汤 was rich, smooth, and nourishing, full of depth without being overpowering. You could really taste the quality of the ingredients, especially the collagen from the fish maw, making it the perfect comforting choice. On the other side, the 牛油麻辣汤 was fragrant and full-bodied, with just the right balance of spice, heat, and that indulgent buttery aroma. It was addictive without being too heavy.
The two dishes that truly stood out for me were the 皮蛋花枝丸 and 皮蛋猪肉丸. Both had a great texture and a unique flavor—especially with the subtle creaminess of the century egg mixed in. The 花枝丸 was springy and fresh, while the 猪肉丸 was juicy and savory, soaking up the soup flavors beautifully.
Overall, the food quality, thoughtful flavors, and cozy ambiance made for a really enjoyable dining experience. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone who loves a good,...
