I recently had the pleasure of dining at Edward's Urban Fish & Chips, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The highlight for me was definitely the grilled barramundi – it was, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly grilled with a nice smoky char on the outside, yet tender and juicy on the inside. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the natural flavour of the fish without overpowering it.
We also tried the Dory Classic, and it was a winner with my entire family. The fish was fresh, the batter light and crispy, and it came together beautifully with the tartar sauce and sides. It’s a comforting, familiar dish that Edward’s has clearly perfected.
And I can't forget to mention their mashed potatoes – they were truly heavenly. Creamy, buttery, and full of flavour, they tasted like they were made from scratch with care. It’s rare to find mashed potatoes that leave such a lasting impression, but these definitely did.
To top it all off, the service was just as memorable as the food. Our waitress, Ms. Chuyun, was absolutely wonderful – warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our meal, which really elevated the whole dining experience.
Overall, Edward’s Urban Fish & Chips delivers both in taste and quality. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking for a satisfying meal, this place is well...
Read moreThe most underrated part of the entire dining experience? The freshness of the fish. We just came back from New Zealand and had a very good fish & chips, so the bar is high :) but they did perform up to par - the batter is light and crispy, and the hand-cut chips complete the experience. The surprise was in the 3 types of sauces - mint, tartar and spicy yoghurt - all compliment the simple dish, giving a much needed detail that delights the senses.
We were here with as a family, 2 adults and 3 kids, so we also ordered: mushroom soup - rich in flavour and smooth in texture, with remnants of mushroom in the liquid proving it’s authentically “home made” fruit tea pot: delightfully fragrant warm fruit infused tea, citrusy sweet with a flowery aftertaste chicken carbonara: surprisingly al dente pasta, and white sauce is layered and fragrant, not your normal flat-tasting sauce from the packet. lemon tart: a crusty tart, though a tad too sweet and would have benefited from more zing and lemon rind
The only 4 stars I gave is for service. Staff was polite but did not show initiative in explaining the differences between fish.

Read more4.5 stars for me! this is one of the best fish and chips i've had~ you can choose from dory, perch and barramundi. the place is a bit small and can get quite crowded though :(
we had the homemade mushroom soup, dory fish and chips and barramundi fish and chips. the order arrived pretty fast, within 10mins of ordering. i liked that the fish and chips came with their own small card explaining the taste of the fish!
the mushroom soup was served in a HUGE plate with a small concave hole for the soup and 1 garlic bread on it... i felt like it wasn't worth but it tasted pretty good ngl. i preferred the barramundi over the dory- the barramundi was sweet and went well with the green thai sauce, and had less batter on it than the dory. the dory was buttery and less sweet and went well with the tartar, but the amount of batter on it made it feel like i was eating a lot of air LOL. the fries were not oily and went well with the last slightly red cream sauce they had (idk the name oops!).
overall i wld def come back bc it's affordable fish and chips and tastes good! the staff were very nice too. might try the grilled fish and pasta options if im feeling...
