Delicious Thai 丽泰 — Restaurant in Johor

Reservations made through the phone as we were informed that this is a very popular thai restaurant and many a times the wait for a table could be more than an hour

We arrived 10 minutes before 6 pm and we were the only guest. The cafe was decorated with interesting pieces of furniture and souvenirs albeit in a haphazard fashion. I tried to link all the pieces with a story or cause but find my efforts wanting.

Service was responsive and present. Menu was quite limited although they work with the street hawker outside the cafe so that you can also order from the street hawker. We were told both belonged to the same boss.

Nonetheless, the taste of the food we ordered was quite authentic. The crispy pork belly was the best! You can give the deep fried prawn fritters a miss though because they tasted like frozen processed food.

We would have given this joint at least a 4 stars but decided on 3 because:

Wifi and data connection was bad. It was so bad bad that we had to pay cash to settle our bill cos the credit card machine couldn’t get online

There were flies flying around our table. We had to sweep the air so that they do not land on our table and dinner. What bothered us was the waiting staff seem to accept the situation as normal and were nonchalant about the situation

I had the pleasure of dining at this quaint and peaceful restaurant, and I must say, the food exceeded my expectations! The Thai Crispy Fish was exceptionally fresh and crunchy, while the Tom Yam Soup delivered a perfect balance of sour and spicy flavors. The Chicken Wings were also deliciously cooked, and the Pineapple Rice was incredibly fragrant.
