The Escaper（密室逃脱） — Local services in Johor

Completed Star Wars (星际战艇) with my friends and all I can say is I finally understand the reviews.

Don’t even bother if you’re not fluent in Chinese — I tried my best and tried to translate it for my friends, but eventually when I couldn’t make sense of the puzzles (can’t connect the dots when there are no dots to connect), I tried to ask if they could try to explain in English but they completely ignored it and kept speaking in Chinese. Everything is in Chinese, including the audio that plays when you complete something and we couldn’t catch it cause we’re not that fluent.

The puzzles are completely unrelated to the storyline and honestly there wasn’t even any storyline. They didn’t bother to explain the situation or the setting. They just gave us the rules, brought us to the room, said a few more words and walked out. I even had to ask the guy, “that’s it? Do we start now?”

2 of the puzzles had doors which unlocked but were stuck so we spent a long time trying to figure out how to proceed. Quite a number of red herrings in the room and some of the stuff including the stuck doors are clearly breaking down (e.g., lights that don’t work).

Granted there were a wide variety of puzzles, but a lot of them were number-based (i guess to avoid language breakdown). The only way to describe the puzzles without giving any away is to say that it was basically the embodiment of a stereotypical Asian nerd.

The only thing relevant to the storyline was the decor. After solving the puzzle before the time was up, all I can say is that I truly felt like...

Prior to coming this escape, I have noticed mutliple bad reviews on Google reviews, but I have decided to give it another chance as I sought to believe it was due to merely different users perspectives and falsified opinions.

Upon arrival at the location, I am not certain that if I were greeted or not by one of your employee, having a annoyed and disgusted look. It feels like he had a bad escape experience instead of myself.

I have dealt with mutliple RBFs in my life, and I am pretty certain in my skills to identify when someone is truly annoyed or just lack the ability to be friendly. He was definitely the first.

Content wise, the escape themes looks interesting, ranging between 4 to 5 stars. However, staff annoyed expression gave me a 6-star difficulty experience because the sole thought of him feels like whatever I did was wrong.

Personally, other than your escape rooms, I think it would be beneficial if you address your current biggest room, the room of improvement. Ideally, please start enforcing greater customer service of your employees.

On a side note, other than that one sole employee, the rest were pretty friendly.

I recently tried out the 'Ghost School' escape room, and it was a spooky, thrilling ride from start to finish! The premise is brilliantly eerie you’re trapped in an abandoned school haunted by restless spirits, and you’ve got to solve puzzles to uncover the story and escape before time runs out. The atmosphere was spot-on: dim lighting, creaky desks, and ghostly whispers in the background really set the mood. The puzzles were clever and tied into the theme well—decoding cryptic messages on chalkboards, finding hidden key item in old lockers, and piecing together the school’s haunted history. Some were tricky enough to stump us for a bit, but that made cracking them even more satisfying. The props and set design felt immersive, like stepping into a haunted movie set. My only gripe was that a couple of clues felt a tad vague, leaving us second-guessing until the game master nudged us along. Still, the fun outweighed the frustration. It’s perfect for thrill-seekers and puzzle fans who don’t mind a few chills down their spine. I’d give 'Ghost School' a solid 8/10—great for a night out with friends brave enough to face...
