Quiet seafood restaurant located on a front lawn of a house in a quiet neighbourhood.
Arrived on a Saturday evening and didnt have to wait for al fresco seats. The staff greeted us warmly upon arrival.
The menu is small featuring multiple cooking styles of seafood displayed on ice. We ordered their sambal stingray, lala soup, grilled salted prawns, fried squid, and stir fried vegetable.
Food was delicious.
First to arrive was the fried squid - its batter light and crunchy, squid savoury sweet.
Next was the lala soup and it was truly comforting. Boiled with ginger and wine, the clams were the hard-shelled type with plump meat. Noting that the clams were washed clean and there were no hint of sand/mud.
Third dish was sambal stingray - our dinner highlight. Its flesh had a nice chewy texture, complimented with delightfully spicy sambal belacan. It was packed with umami flavor. To add, the okra were seperately cooked and added to the dish and doing so preserved its texture.
The prawns were fresh, its meat crunchy and sweet. Only light salt seasoning were added.
Stir fried vegetable had flavourful fried garlic on it and that rounded up a pleasant dinner.
The bill came up to MYR230-ish including rice and drinks. Portions were average but it filled the stomachs of four adults.
Would I come...
Read moreNew establishment prompt via word of mouth and reels by others, so give it a try to see how is it. But overall it's awesome.
Bright and easy to find location despite its in one of the street. Clean environment and limited seats for up to 4 to 5 groups of up to 6 and maybe 2 groups of above 6.
Straight forward menu and easy order menu for the dishes offered.
Seafood porridge: flavouring and strong umami. Lots of ingredients can be a fulfilling mean for 1 or 2 sharing. So order accordingly. 🫣🤭
Lala soup: fresh and clean, flavourful, jus slightly rank behind the porridge. Which is a good option if you want soupy items during a cold day.
Bbq fish: crispy and the sambal is awesome! Must have, very appetising with the chilli.
Garlic sotong: non-spicy options but it doesn't loss to other food items in turns of flavouring. It's jus right and not rubbery.
Cockles: not a fan of it, but people who eat state that it's very fresh. So can give it a try.
Price wise it's very acceptable for the amount the amount of seafood and its very filling to all of us, including drinks....
Read moreTried this eatery that serves BBQ seafood that is located within Taman Melodies. Chanced upon this place via social media quite some time ago and happen to be in the vicinity and decided to give this place a try. We reached there around 8pm, and there was much diner expect for another few tables. The owner was very friendly, since it was our first time here, We decided to follow with her recommendation.
We ordered a total of 4 dishes, bbq stingray, sambal Kangkong, clams with superior broth and a steam beancurd. Our food didnt took long to be ready. The bbq stingray felt normal to me, nothing special for me.The outstanding dishes for me has to the the beancurd and clams. The clams were plump and fresh, the broth was definitely outstanding.
Overall, the food was definitely good. Owner was very friendly and checked-in with us on the food. Interestingly, this eatery is a cafe by the day and becomes a bbq seafood...
