I was there with my friend to celebrate my friend birthday. Attitude: We ordered chilli crab and Indonesia curry prawn. The female staff ask, huh, your crab you order spicy your prawn still order spicy ah, we ask for recommendations she said salted egg we not really a fans of it but she insists chilli crab already spicy cannot order spicy flavour prawn again. We order soup also and she have comment again, she said, your prawn and crab got a lot of sauce already and spicy one, you sure you still want soup ah, don't want vegetable ah. We was so piss off with her, either you recommend us and we take it, or take our order only. Price: The prawn was not expensive, RM48 for 8 prawn about half palm size but not so fresh. Very difficult to peel off the shell because the skin stick with the shell. But the gravy is like next level, very nice. The crab was not even big, smaller than palm size but the staff said it was RM102. The crab was not well cooked, and the gravy was very disappointing. The gravy can see is too sticky, only got sweet taste, not even chilli taste or ginger taste. And such a small size crab you charge me RM102, I visit few times seafood restaurant I know your crab is overpriced.
Summary, maybe they see us only 2 young woman, not really know about seafood and market price so give us such an experience, hard to judge. Is just my sharing my opinion, but definitely I will not come back to this...
Read moreSuper amazed by the all of the food that we tried at this joint! First up, my personal favourite was the soupy Bee Tai Mak (老鼠粉), which was super aromatic and savory, tastes to be tipo fish boiled for a long time with added minced chicken. Texture of the noodles were amazing, and very comforting warm soup on a cold rainy day. Price was 24RM for the large portion which easily serves5-6pax with other dishes ordered.
Next, the grilled Lok Lok was also very delicious, and not oily at all. My favourites was the grilled squid (6RM) and grilled broccoli, which still retained a very fresh taste. We also ordered other items such as quail eggs, century quail eggs, fried beancurd skin, various grilled mushrooms(super good as well), smoked duck, Brinjal, chicken wings (their signature apparently, but was pretty dry in my opinion).
Next, we got fried calamari (38RM) from the Tze Char store, which was very nicely fried as well with a light and crisp outer batter --dont get me wrong-- but the grilled squid frm Lok Lok overshadowed this dish. Lastly, we ordered chicken satay as well, which was pretty decent in my opinion, and would be great for people who loves satay sauce, as the satay sauce was very very peanuty with loads of crushed peanut in it.
10/10 would revisit, to try out other dishes such as the Steamed Fish, hotplate tofu,...

Armed with just printed map bought from the petrol station - hey! Those days were pre-GPS and I relied on my sense of direction (plus the map) to get around Johor. That, and my cousin who had moved to JB to cari makan.and he thought me to the notorious Taman Sentosa (back in those days) to dine at one of his favourite restaurant - Sin Kimdo!
◾This restaurant provide ju char dishes to the locals as well as Singaporeans but there was something else that he loved more - grilled skewers! ◾When night falls, tables and chairs are placed along the road in front of the restaurant to let the patrons enjoy dining alfresco style. ◾I am always here for the grilled meat or seafood - expect to find squid, prawns, chicken and its innards, vegetables, etc... Everything grilled to perfection ◾Do not forget to dip into the chilly sauce - fiery and spicy, I could never get enough of the sauce. ◾Fried rice oozed wok hei and flavour to satisfy the carb craving.
I love coming here everytime I'm in JB - they also have a branch in Century Garden nearby but to me, this is the...
