Stumbled upon this little place while exploring the Taman Daya area. It looked interesting, one of a group of quaint little standalone buildings in an area with a huge parking lot around it, and decided to try on an impulse. My review only applies to this branch, I can't comment on other outlets or the chain in general. Please don't mind my lousy photos taken with my phone camera too, the place and the food were all a lot more visually appealing than what you see in my photos!
The interior is pretty neat, quite well-decorated with its checkered flooring and blue and orange theme. Very different from your average McDonald's or KFC, something like what I'd imagine fast food joints in the US to be. It wasn't really crowded at lunch time too. Temperature inside was just right. Restrooms were clean. Certainly no complaints about the environment.
They claim to be a Chicago-inspired fast food restaurant but the menu is definitely tweaked to suit Malaysian/Asian tastes somewhat; things like rice and Korean-styled burgers are available.
We ordered two pieces of chicken, one spicy and one original, and two of their daily specials, which happened to be the Classic Coney. Service was fine, the girl at the counter was polite, though the food took a bit long to arrive. First of all, the good part; the chicken was really good. The pieces were ideal in size, not so huge as to appear freakish and be impossible to finish, but not tiny like the way they have shrunk at some other fast food places these days. Both the original and spicy versions were delicious. They came piping hot, the meat was juicy and tasted fresh, with no hint of frozen staleness. It was really some of the best fast food fried chicken we've tried in a long time. We enjoyed the chicken and finished it in no time.
The Classic Coney hot dogs took a longer time to arrive. They looked great, and the chili filling smelled delicious. Unfortunately, that's where it ended. They were served cold! The buns and the sausages were actually cold to the touch, as if just removed from the fridge, and the sauce was just slightly warm! Now this is a big deal to me as food safety is involved, so I requested for it to be heated up. To give credit to the counter girl, she was not rude or unhelpful at any time, but she seemed clueless about what to do. She said something about their oven not working, and that maybe they could microwave it. Now heating something up in a microwave should be done very quickly, but after 10 minutes, they still hadn't handed the hot dogs back! A couple of staff who seemed to be more senior stepped in at this time. When they finally handed them back, the surface was just very slightly warmer than it was earlier! They seemed to be clueless about how to handle these hot dogs properly! They were completely at a loss to see that we still wouldn't accept them (one even said that it was slightly warm - anyone should know that food that isn't cooked or heated properly and is only very slightly warm is the most dangerous, this provides the best environment for bacterial growth!) They eventually offered us more chicken instead, which we gladly accepted.
I'm giving the place two stars on account of the atmosphere, design and the delightful chicken, and the friendliness and politeness of the staff despite my repeated dissatisfaction and demands with the hot dogs. I'd like to give it more but the cold hot dogs and their inability to heat them up warrants the loss of three stars. I am not sure when this place opened but there's a possibility that it's quite new - there seems to be a pizza counter also but it's not operational yet. Hopefully this is just a teething issue, but honestly, I don't understand how any food and beverage business could get something so fundamental as serving hot dogs hot wrong. I am open to trying again and I hope they will get it right the next time, because I do like the place. Time will tell if I will upgrade or downgrade my rating on...

Read moreWent during lunchtime, the queue was long & only one counter was open.. the staff seems to be new as she was keep checking with other staff.. a group of 3 people came together but placed their orders one by one which took almost 20mins as they were checking everything & get details of each & every single thing on the menu.. very disappointed. At least can open another counter to serve the customers. Only 1 staff was serving both takeaways & dining in.. at least arrange for more staff during weekdays, especially lunchtime.. it was more than 40mins of waiting, so I just gave up & went back.. Since I wanted to try Chicago Chicken City (C³), went again on Saturday evening around 5 pm.. still the same -only one counter was operating. But fewer people.. the food was good, especially the chicken.. mashed potato was ok, felt like something is missing in it.. Chicago Chicken Burger, the signature dish was very nice.. cheesy wedges were good with the generous amount of cheese, and no mayonnaise were mixed.. we enjoyed it.. & of cz free flow of drinks (Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Fanta Grape, 7Up, Ice...
