It was a Saturday around 230pm. Waited for about 30mins to get a table. Ambience is nice and pretty and we wanted to try their high tea set and other bakes. We ordered a high tea set, their signature kaya croissant, a pot of Rose Tea, Chicken Quesadilla and a chocolate cake. As the restaurant was full, we expected the cooked foods to take some time, so we expected the bakes and high tea set to be fast as thise were ready made. Unfortunately, we were pretty disappointed.. Surprisingly, the Chicken Quesadilla came 1st after 18mins and it was quite delectable. BUT the Signature Kaya Croissant took 20mins, which we couldnt fathom why since its already ready made and on the shelves. And although it was pretty unique, it was not much to boast about. Probably suit those with a sweet tooth. Appalling was the High Tea set came after 40mins.. albeit a few attempts asking them if there were any issues serving the already baked pastries on a High Tea Stand. In the end, we asked them to just serve in a plate instead of plating then on a High Tea rack stand. Quite evident from the photos as opposed to the usual High Tea sets they served. If we hadnt asked them to just serve on a plate, we might need to wait for another 15mins, which would total up to 55mins.. to be served a high tea set 😆 Anyway, we didnt have any macarons although other patrons had them. When we inquire about it, we were informed only last deck of the rack would be the same. So you are advised, what u see is not what u get. 😅 Overall, nice ambience. Probably not advisable to go on a weekend. And be mentally prepared on the...
Read moreManzanita is a hidden gem in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Located in the quiet Taman Daya neighborhood, this charming bakery offers a wide variety of delicious pastries, breads, and coffee.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Manzanita, and I was immediately impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The bakery is decorated with simple elegance, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The croissant was flaky and buttery, and the pain au chocolat was filled with rich, gooey chocolate. I also tried a few of the other pastries on display, and they were all equally delicious.
In addition to the pastries, Manzanita also offers a variety of breads, quiches, and sandwiches. I also tried a cup of their coffee, which was perfectly brewed and flavorful.
Overall, I was extremely impressed with Manzanita Pâtisserie & Boulangerie. The pastries are delicious, the coffee is excellent, and the staff is incredibly friendly. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy a delicious pastry and a cup of coffee, I highly...
Read moreIt’s a convenient place near to town, not too difficult to get there. Having to visit this place the first time, upon entering the carpark you will be able to see the cafe, standing on its own grounds. The doors are really inviting. Entering the place is like walking into a cosy cafe. Pretty good experience. You then get to walk thru the aisle down pastures of pastries waiting to jump at you. Cakes on the right and pastries on the left.
The food ordering process was simple and food is acceptable, we probably have to come back again to try the rest of the food for lunch. The after feel of the place is that this should be a lunch place, customers leaving just right after lunch time, the environment is noisy like in a canteen.
So perhaps there could be more stars if they can create more quiet spaces for the expectation of it being a cafe rather than a lunch eatery.
Savour their brunch and...
