One of the worst service experiences i’ve ever had in my life as it seemed the staff valued one dish item over customer brand impression. To start things off, I ordered a bowl of udon. I noticed the initial red flag that this udon was accompanied by a fried egg instead of the usual onsen egg (or at least a poached or soft boiled egg) in the udon. I also noticed that the button mushroom was much smaller than depicted in promotional images. This all raised an eyebrow since I found it out of place for this dish and the restaurant’s aesthetic but brushed it off wanting to believe the noodles would taste good. However, I was met with a sad and bland tasting soup, which honestly could be mistaken for water. I asked the people which I dined with to try it and see if it was just an issue with my tastebuds, but we all shared the same sentiment. Therefore, I brought this up to the service staff to see if a return of the item accompanied with a deduction off the bill was possible, to which the first waiter referred us to another waiter named Roy since he was unsure about the company’s policy on this issue, and they declined my request. I was confused at why any restaurant that wants to stay in business would not compensate for this mishap, in fact roy was monotonous, indifferent and unapologetic. I politely requested for him to still return the bowl, regardless of whether the cost would still be incurred since I did not feel like eating a bowl of noodles dumped in water. A few minutes later, Roy returned with the bowl of noodles, and we asked him what changes were made to it. He replied that they added salt. This was completely against my objective as I did not want the food to be saltier, but wanted the taste of the soup base to be stronger and for the soup to not be so watered down. I tried it and was still met with an unsatisfactory taste and entirely gave up and ordered other dishes. After the meal concluded, I went to look for Roy to apologise for any inconvenience caused since the situation was not ideal for most parties. He listened and looked at me blankly without saying a word, not apologising back to me for the unfortunate way the situation panned out, or even acknowledge my efforts to make peace. I followed up the conversation by asking for his name. He paused and hesitated for a while before replying ‘’my name Roy”. I am unsure if this is his real name since hesitated but I am writing this in trust that he was truthful with me. I am still baffled with this encounter, at how there was no manager that came to attend to us, and am still shocked that they chose to leave us dissatisfied instead of compensating with a new bowl that in company’s costs would likely only be a few dollars. In my opinion brand image is worth much more than that, but it seems kinsahi does not feel the same. I strongly discourage anyone from visiting this place, and personally will never step foot into this restaurant ever again. The attached images are of the food when it just arrived, before I had even tried it, and after it was returned to me...
Read moreWas greatly disappointed by this place, if looking for japanese food go anywhere else but here. slow slow slow service while fish was not close to being fresh. ordered salmon don while friends ordered tempura and yakisoba and the wait time for the food was making me question whether the food was being served from japan despite not being close to full capacity. upon being served the salmon don, it appeared to me that the salmon slices were not fresh and portion size was on the smaller side so if you are a heavy eater, best to go for other items. ordered a round of sashimi and 2 pieces of salmon nigiri to make up for the small portion however this time, the waiting time was even longer and again the sashimi was not fresh and was slimy and stuck to the ice which i have never encountered at any other restaurant. The nigiri sushi came at room temperature and tasted quite stale. this whole experience confirmed to me that the kitchen was indeed in japan. service could be better as when served sashimi, soy sauce is only provided upon request and not provided individually at each table. Would not...
Read moreWhen we arrived, a customer just left in a huff and that should have been a warning sign. But the kids were hungry so we asked for a table. 2nd warning sign, they informed us there is no more salmon sashimi ... which decent Japanese restaurant will have no stock of salmon. Surprisingly, when we were ordering, the waitress told us salmon Don is available... weren't we informed earlier about lack of salmon. Puzzled we went ahead n ordered the salmon Don, kids meal, clam soup, chawamushi n other stuff. Then servings wasabi w any sauce was placed on the table, and I was shocked. I might be wrong, but looked like the wasabi had been scooped onto the plate way too long ago to make it seem the edge was dehydrated. Then the clam soup came and another shocker. It is ginger soup. The whole bowl just reeked of ginger, which makes u wondered what it was that needed so much ginger to mask. Seriously, I dun taste any sweetness of fresh clams but ginger. Then the Don was served. Again, why got salmon slices when they claimed not having sashimi? All in all, was very much underwhelmed by the...
