To be honest, nothing great about this restaurant. We went during a long weekend, therefore the 25 mins queue is expected.
We tried to order by scanning the QR code provided. Unfortunately, due to the low data coverage inside the restaurant, we could not load the ordering page. Not wasting anymore time, we decided to press the call bell for assistance. The bell is working but the purpose of the bell is not.
After a few failed attempts, we grabbed the attention of some service personal to order our food. She reluctantly walked away to get another person whom I presume, the only person who can take manual orders. The other younger service person came over and told us to scan the QR for ordering. We explained our situation, and similarly she reluctantly and rudely just walk off without telling us what is the next course of action. But, she came back with a tablet a moment later and we started the ordering process, with a displeased body language and she is hardly interested to entertain our queries. Nevertheless, the ordeal of being served by someone so unwilling did not mar our mood and expectation to be served great food.
Please reconsider preserving the conventional way of food ordering as not everyone in Malaysia is tech savvy. If I could order via the online system, I would not have bothered the staff. I do not recall having wi-fi as an option; at least I did not get pushed off with a wifi ID and password.
The BBQ pork and roasted duck is served first. To be fair, the BBQ pork is excellent and that is the only dish that could appeal to our taste palates. The roasted duck is a little too dry and the sauce hardly has any aroma.
Next came the tofu which is somewhat unappealing in terms of the presentation, seemingly appearing like a rushed job. The taste of the tofu is acceptable. No qualms about the stir-fried vegetables; how wrong could it get? There is a longer waiting time for the spicy asam fish but the wait is proven to be a waste of time. The sauce is bland and unappealing. Lesson learned, do not order asam fish when dining in a roasted duck restaurant.
I am not sure how reasonable the price is but it can be a little pricey for locals in my own opinion. Nevertheless, to each its own, my first experience marred by unpleasant service has definitely shaped my return visit in the...
Read moreChar Siu and roasted duck taste good, but not exceptional. This is my second visit.
I ordered the small size of niang doufu (酿豆腐, 4 pieces), RM19.80 before service charge and gst, but was disappointed. The bitter gourd with minced pork filling was undercooked. I asked the waitress to change it, and she called a manager/supervisor dressed in black to attend to us. He seemed inexperienced and unsure of how to handle the situation. My mom suggested they steam it again, as there were 3 pieces left. The manager wanted me to return the portion I had already bitten so they could steam it altogether. I asked if he could replace the piece, but he said all 4 pieces were a set, and taking one from another set would make it incomplete. Unfortunately, the meat was all pink and undercooked.
When they changed it the second time, one piece was cooked properly but the others were still pink. This inconsistency raises questions about their food preparation. We decided to leave the dish. I took a picture and asked the cashier if the pink color was due to the marination or if it was still undercooked. She took my phone without asking and showed it to two other staff members. None of them could answer and kept silent. I just wanted to know if this was normal or if it needed attention from the kitchen. It seemed the supervisors were inexperienced and reluctant to engage. F&B is challenging, but basic skills are essential.
Additionally, the waitress appeared to be a foreigner, so I spoke to her in English, asking if I could choose fragrant rice. She couldn’t understand and replied with an impatient tone, “你可以讲华语吗” (Can you speak Chinese?). While I can speak Chinese, it would be nice if she had asked...
Read moreVisited on 20/2/24, around 1.30pm lunch time. Staff member at entrance gave a big frown when I insisted on ordering at table due to my family finding it difficult to order while queueing outside. Restaurant's E-system was down.
Female restaurant manager was rude too, also showed a displeased face when we took slightly longer to decide on our orders.
Had to frequently ask staff to check on our orders as they took very long to be served. Was just kept being told that due to system being down, orders would take longer to be served...(no initiative to update customers on their order statuses?)
Food was generally okay as usual. Though fish was slightly undercooked, but able to forgive due to circumstances.
Was told at cashier that member points were unable to be issued due to system being down yet again. Denied being able to claim back on next visit with receipt. Absolutely wonderful to hear when I spent close to RM 400.....
Overall, very disappointing experience. Terrible customer service. If you can't handle taking orders manually when your E-system is down, you jolly well stay closed for the day/only accept takeaway orders and fix it ASAP. Do not use it as an excuse for poor service.
If I knew that member points issuance was unavailable for the day, I wouldn't even have stepped in. I have visited numerous other restaurants on days where their E-system was also down and their service was never this bad/chaotic. Member points were even allowed to be claimed back on next visit with receipt.
Good luck to those that visit on the next system breakdown. Whole staff ought to be fired. Clearly, their training isn't up...
